Let's see, favourite Zelda game... For me it's a tie between the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. I particularly like the Wind Waker because of its expressive aesthetics, and the fact that it has aged perfectly well. Too bad it's a bit on the short side, with not THAT much content. I wonder why that is. Oh wait, no I don't, it's because the prerendered ending cinematic takes up half the soddin' disk. Also, the Triforce Chart thing was just cheap padding. The few dungeons it DID have were all quite unique though.
Twilight Princess on the other hand has an artstyle I like just as much as the Wind Waker's, it's a lot more detailed but still quite stylized, especially with the NPCs. I especially like Ganondorf in this game; In Ocarina of Time he was just "Abloogieboogieboo I'm evil" without much motivation. And in the Wind Waker he WAS given a background story, but he didn't really feel all that evil. In Twilight Princess however, he is fleshed out decently as a character while still being definitely evil. Also, I actually like the Lakebed Temple. ALSO also, Twilight Princess' Darknuts are my most favourite non-boss enemies from any game whatsoever. ALSO ALSO also, it has the best companion/tip-giver/pokédex.
Aside from those two, I also quite like Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, and the Oracle series. YES THE ORACLE SERIES. And I can't judge Four Swords Adventure or the DS games because I haven't played them.
I don't really have any Zelda game I hate, there's a few I dislike though. One of them is Skyward Sword, for the usual reasons (Fi, padding, motion controls, tadtones. NOT the stealth section though, I liked that.), and Ocarina of Time. BLASPHEMY! Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a bad game, I just everything it does, other games do better. The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess have more polished gameplay, and to be honest, I think the story's pretty bland. It's just "Get magic rocks to get get sword, get medalions to enter villain's castle, kill villain to save princess", it was nothing special even back in its day. Also, I hate "Don't worry, we'll fix everything before it even begun! We have time travel!"-endings. I much prefer Link's Awakening's ending. In the end, what you've lost STAYS lost, and that's quite a lot in that game. And what makes it even better is that you're fully aware of what you'll lose from about halfway into the game, giving the whole final battle much more of an emotional charge.
Also, some people praise it so highly because it's the first 3D Zelda. To me, that's like saying this is the best car ever because it was the first. That shit doesn't fly with me.
