Playing through White the first time was truly a great experience. The story, the music, the new pokemon. Oh man, it was just so magical. However, the magic faded in Black 2. It just felt like a lifeless cash in, and while an improvement over White technically, it felt lifeless with the samey areas and samey music, and just made the areas seem lazy.
Overall, the new pokemon were Ok, the soundtrack is the best in the series, barring PMD2, and the areas were dull. While it is my 2nd least favorite generation, I still enjoy it. Same with Gen 1 my least favorite.

Doesn't matter. Even with those changes, the combat has still felt the same with every Generation. And even if Gen 5 didn't innovate very much, who gives a fuck? If a game is designed competently, then it's a good game. I agree, at least we got a new game that was good with new pokemon, even if it did not innovate the meta game. Hidden abilities.

Oh, gen. 5 did have special thing.
Shadows on ground for flying pokemon (Ducklet on Driftveil Drawbridge), shaking grass, and dark spots in water. Different pokemon would appear where something was different. This has returned in gen. 6 with shadows over ead in cave and shaking bushes in some spots.

Well, I think it was a neat little thing.

Neither did the physical/special split. I'm thankful for it, but it's barely noticeable.

I have to agree with people like superflipper. Team Plasma were great, and frankly misunderstood villains.

What I liked about Gen 5 is that it had an emphasis on plot, and it's different from the other plots in the other Gens. I also think removing the other Gen Pokemon and just giving us the then-new Pokemon to catch in the first BW was good because it makes things fresh and new, unlike BW2 which completely misses the point of Unova just to satisfy Gen 1 fans (refuse to say gennwunners anymore). BW2 is just Red/Blue 2.

BW2 is just Red/Blue 2. ? That would be Yellow BW2 gave you a huge variety in different types that BW lacked. Also it fixed the problem of no real post game in BW. If it was catering to Gen 1 fans they would have added a Kanto region in. It didn't cater at all. It just added new pokemon into the region. My theory is that as Unova was immigrated people released old pokemon creating diversity.

You know what I find funny? People have a problem with Trubbish being a trash bag, yet they're fine with Makuhita being a PUNCHING BAG.
