Since we don't have a Strategy subsection, this is the best spot.
I have quite the Fire Emblem backlog to complete. I'm trying to go on a hunt for all the games in the series in one form or another to judge them for myself, and so far I have 4 (Genealogy of the Holy War), 7 (Blazing Sword), 8 (Sacred Stones), 9 (Path of Radiance), and 13 (Awakening). If I were to rank them as I think now...
5. Sacred Stones 4. Path of Radiance 3. Awakening 2. Genealogy of the Holy War 1. Blazing Sword
But that might change as I get further in the games and as I get more games in the series.
NOW, DISCUSS.

I haven't played any of the Japan only FE games.
Here's how I'd rank the ones I've played.
6. Sacred Stones 5. Shadow Dragon 4. Radiant Dawn 3. Blazing Sword 2. Path of Radiance 1. Awakening
I think Radiant Dawn had a lot of potential that it never really tapped. It's fun to play but it's deeply flawed - rampant balance issues, terrible plot pacing, terrible plot in some spots, bloated cast with terrible support system... I could go on. I have an entire notebook's worth of ideas for a Radiant Dawn ROM hack that I think would have been more ideal for the actual game. I would share it here, but the length is ridiculous. Maybe best saved for a thread back on V3.
Also, the characters. I plan to make Top 50 Fire Emblem Characters in the future. I just need to play FE4, 5, and 6 before I do...

Do you think that the new FE Game will take a direction similar to FE: Awakening..

I have Awakening, and Holy S***! It's hard. Well I guess it makes sense considering the only experience I have with strategy games is the demo of Halo Wars. I still enjoy it though and want to get better.

Awakening can be the easiest if you attempt to break the game. If you don't abuse Second Seals or DLC, it puts up quite a challenge. (On Normal and Hard mode. On Lunatic and Lunatic+, you have to abuse those if you hope to survive) That's the thing I love about Awakening's design - it gives you more freedom than any other FE game. I also like how unlike in past games, every unit is useful.

Awakening is plain out amazing it's made by God himself! My favorite unit (back-story wise) is Libra especially after seeing what you learn during a relationship with him and Tharja. Besides that I have to say Sumia and Cornelia. Those are two that I try to get my character to go with.

I just now realized that I missed Sumia's birthday. I feel stupid for that since she's one of my favorites.
Happy belated birthday, Sumia! (by four days)

I'm going to revive this dead thread momentarily to wish Teach Vaike happy birthday! Not exactly one of my most used units, but I get a great laugh out of him.

I'd rank them something like this
7. Sword of Seals (FUCK HARD AS SHIT) 6. Shadow Dragon 5. Fire Emblem 3make (The DS remake of 3) 4. Awakening 3. Sacred Stones (Nostalgia all the way) 2. Radiant Dawn 1. Fire Emblem 7 0. Path of Radiance
Awakening's okay. I actually kind of dislike how much freedom it gives you since you can super break the game with it. I like my Fire Emblem games easy but that might have been too easy. The new artstyle doesn't lend itself to weird bosses either. Glad they brought back supports though, the past 3 Fire Emblem games had been sorely lacking in the support field.
