Why do you hate it? I thought it was much more fair when it came to difficulty compared to the true final level.

Arid Sands. Pretty much the only badly designed level in Sonic Unleashed.

The Library from Halo Combat Evolved Now, some of you might find that Halo has repetitive level designs, and I would respectively disagree. Sure some levels have several rooms that are similar in structure, but the enemy placements ease that repetition and make it a fun challenge to get through. I can honestly say, with a little bias because it was my childhood game, that I found a still find enjoyment out of every level in that game. Even the ones that are the same but backwards, because they include new elements like flyable Banshees and the Flood. I lied before, there is one level that I find no enjoyment out of. The Library. It is literally just repetition. The entire level looks exactly the same, getting swarmed by Flood at all directions is the only form of combat you will experience, and MOST OF ALL 343 GUILTY SPARK. He annoyingly hums and sings and keeps saying how great he is throughout the level. As a kid, this is was literally the first level with him, and there no indication he was an antagonist yet, and I still wanted to rip him to shreds. Throughout the level you keep coming to doors that Guilty Spark has to unlock, and at the first one (which is already a good part into the level), I sh** you not, he tells you this door is "The first of ten." This was my first childhood rage at a game. The funny thing is, in Halo 2, there is also a level in The Library, and it kicks ass. It has level unique enemies, The Flood driving human vehicles like Scorpions and Warthogs, and tons of variety in the scenery. I'd say that level (or set of 2 levels) is in my Top 10 favorites, and is definitely my favorite snow level. Altitude Limit from Sonic Rush is the bane of my existence and also.. £$%$!!!!!!!!! THAT BOSS FIGHT... I feel your pain bro. I don't think I ever got to the final boss to this day.

I'd say chapter 4-5 in Radiant Dawn. (Unforgivable Sin)
Swamp level bogging down all your non-flying units while the boss, Izuka, teleports with his ElWarp staff. Endless amount of Feral One enemies that the boss loves to summon. Said boss is also one of the most despicable characters in gaming.
And everyone rags on the Water Temple for being annoying and taking forever, but I think a worse water level is from another Fire Emblem game, Blazing Sword. Chapeter 26x (Or Chapter 28x if playing Hector's story) has an annoying gimick where bridges over water will randomly disappear. Any units that where on these bridges are stuck unless a flier rescues them. Speaking of water, this map is like 70% water, just tiny islands and the random disappearing bridges making progress for non-fliers tedious. But wait! There's more! The boss of this stage, Sonia, has a Bolting tome, a powerful spell that has a ridiculous 10 space range. Thankfully it only has five uses so you can send a unit with high resistance to soak up all the hits. ...only there's the slight issue of a nearby bishop having a fucking BERSERK STAFF. God help you if one of your units gets hit with that, and starts slaughtering any friendly units that are stuck on the same island with him.
EDIT: Oh and apparently there is also a druid that has a Sleep staff, YAY! Even more status effects to worry about!

I think I ranted about it on V3, but I guess I'll say it here, too: Wily Stage 4 of Mega Man 2. Dull color scheme (Oh joy, it's all purple, how fun), annoying traps (Falling through the floor, slow moving platforms), terrible 8-bit music (bwuuuuuuuuh, Bwuuuuuuuuuuh, BWUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH, bwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh), and quite possibly the worst boss I've ever faced (FREAKING. BOOBEAM. TRAP.). Just an irritating and terrible level. Whenever I point out how overrated Megaman 2 is, I use this boss as an example.

Crossfire from Tribes Ascend
Dammit, i hate this map. I can say some nice things about this map, like how it's unique that the bases are battleships floating in the air, but the bad heavily outweighs the good. For starters, the generator room is a relatively tight space which is prefect for Brutes looking to spam Fractals in your face all day long. It's hard to go fast on this map because of the lack of large hills or Mountains making Spinfusor jumping pointless. And because of those lack of high hills, there is literally no cover to protect your from Saber Noobs. Thanks Hi Rez! Now i have more of a reason to hate Saber Noobs!
