Id recommend Noragami or Soul eater. Same theme (kinda: both have people who can turn into weapons), but noragami hasnt finished yet, and there are some other differences i dont wanna spoil differences

I'd suggest something like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann if you're into giant robots blowing each other up or Senyuu if you just want a good laugh. If you wish to watch a more standard shonen-like anime, then Soul Eater is a good choice

To Aru Majutsu no Index and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. It might take some time before you get into the story but once you do, you'll enjoy it.
What are the genres you are looking for exactly? Then I can give you a small list of suggestions.

I'd give Death Note or Code Geass a try. Those were the ones my friends and I started with and they were a really good animes to start out with and basically were the things that got us into anime. Redkite mentioned Noragami, It finishes airing a week from tomorrow, so don't worry about the whole "finishing airing" problem. Wait, only 12-13 episodes!?

I'd suggest reading the manga as the anime has already hit filler territory.

Seeing as there is no announcement for a season two along with heading into a filler arc, I'm pretty certain this is it at least for a while. Now to keep things on topic if you have any more questions please send them to me by PM.

Mhm Action and Comedy eh? Let's see... You are watching FMA already so you got one of the best Action Anime's ever at the moment :3
I hear a lot of people talking about Attack on Titan, though I yet have to watch it. Others I can recommend:
- Elemental Gelade. I'm only at episode 4 so far and, in my opinion, it's a bit silly but you might find some enjoyment out of it. After all, it is definitely not a bad anime. - Fate/Zero - Shakugan no Shana. Same story with To Aru Majutsu no Index/To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, it takes some time to really get you into it. But it is well worth the effort. - Log Horizon. Basically, I thought SAO was... average. Most of the things I missed, are present in Log Horizon.
Just a small list, because I myself haven't watched that much anime either (despite many people think I do :3).

I would suggest maybe a good movie to start off with. Princess Monokee, Akira(Watch this eventually. Really important to anime), Jin-Roh, or Summer wars.
I will give you some good anime by genre
Adventure: Cowboy Bebop(It is very american. It is like watching a classic film noir 26 episodes) Comedy: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (It is not 100% comedy 28 episodes) or Azumanga Daioh (26 episodes) Mecha: The Big O (26 episodes) Long anime: Yu Yu Hakusho 112 episodes (It is longer but not overwhelming like Naruto or Bleach)
After a couple of shows I would suggest: FLCL Neon Genesis Evangelion Mushi Shi Barefoot Gen(If you like history can't recommend this more)

Oh, and you may want to watch the movie Redline at some point just for the sake of how good animation can get. The story is incredibly simple, but as someone who is getting into anime, I doubt you will have any trouble with that.
Just a warning though... it has a bit of a lot of fanservice. If you don't know what that is, look it up
