I'd been rather indisposed today, and plus, I thought I'd wait until Clown posted his thoughts on Superunknown. Oh well, guess not. After much deliberation, I've chosen a peculiar album. Austra - Feel It Break Clownboss often describes my music as "2void", which means something that's ethereal and otherworldly. I can hardly disagree, so I was looking for something that both had a firm setting on the ground, and was a bit spacey and airy. Among other contenders, Austra's debut broke through. Fronted by classically-trained Katie Stelmanis, Feel It Break is a unique combination of electronica and darkwave. The pulsing beats drive much of the songs, as the absolutely wonderful drums and bass from Maya Postepski and Dorian Wolf respectively, the heavenly backing vocals of the Lightman twins, and of course, Katie Stelmanis' esoteric voice frame the work. Feel It Break is an experience, and one of my favorite albums of 2011. Hopefully, it can become one of yours too.

Alright, I HAVE RETURNED FROM THE DEAD! Anyway, looks like I've got some catching up to do. I'll post my thoughts on the... three albums was it? Tomorrow.

I liked Superunknown in general, but it really was unnecesarilly dragging too long. It could've been just split into two albums, but I managed to go through it since, unlike some people, I enjoy grunge. I couldn't identify and remember most of them, aside from Black Hole Sun(of course), which is still the strongest track of the album. Other favourites are She Likes Surprises, My Wave, Limo Wreck, and Head Down.
1. Soundgarden - Superunknown 2. Björk - Homogenic 3. Mumm-Ra - These Things Move in Threes
Also, after Pav's run, I think I'll have to lay down the album group for a while. I want the ability to explore my own music back, and the albums around this thread feel like foreign bodies entering my blood stream, something I'm very uncomfortable with. As a result, I've been enjoying music much less, in my opinion, and I hope you'll all understand.

I agree that sometimes it drags on for a bit, Like Suicide, for example, is 7 minutes long but I wouldn't mind if it was half as long. And that's too bad, you are one of the only ones that's been active since the very beginning of this group.

Discovering music yourself is one of the most joyous experiences, I'd say, and if you feel like you need to do it, do it. Here's hoping you re-join someday.

Alright, so I've listened to two of the albums so far, third one will probably be tomorrow. Anyway, Bjork's "Homogenic" just wasn't for me honestly. Granted it was good, I didn't like it all too much. There was just something about it that rubbed me the wrong way.
Now on to Soundgraden "Superunknown." Well, it was good, plain and simple. However, like some other complaints, I found some of the songs to be a little longer then they should of been. Otherwise, like I stated before, it was good.
Also, like Clownboss I will also be leaving the the Album Group for a bit. Exams are coming up and I've got some projects that need to be finished soon so all my focus must be on that. I will probably come back to the group in July.

My name is Boxxy and I am brown now. OK, so to be honest I didn't like Feel It Break too much. The last 3 tracks are very good, but quite honestly the rest was just meh for me. I'm not really a fan of the vocals in general, I don't know, in a lot of the tracks I didn't like it. And I find that everything before the last 3 tracks is rather bland. It doesn't do anything to me, simple as that. It's listenable after a long day, while sitting in the car and gazing at the stars, bored with everything, but at any other moment I can't enjoy most of it. Sorry. 1: Björk - Homogenic 2: Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation 3: Mumm-Ra - These Things Move In Threes 4: Austra - Feel It Break

Listening today; it will be the turn of Drebwin next but I'm almost certain he hasn't finished listening to the albums so it will be the turn of X17Clones if that is the case

I don't know, the album felt like it had one idea, and it didn't feel like it tried to develop its one idea further. But look, I like what I hear, and frankly, it isn't as bland as These Things Move in Threes, or flat out boring as Superunkown, but I don't know. Still kinda like it, though.
1. Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation 2. Austra - Feel It Break 3. Mumm-ra - These Things Move in Threes 4. Soundgarden - Superunkown
