Everyone is just posting albums I've already listened to. Daydream Nation is a landmark in the vast history of rock to be sure, with its grimey production and flat-out noise at certain points. The extended instrumentals after the lyrics exude an effortless edginess, and overall, the album is extremely strong. Nothing else I can add, really.
1. Björk - Homogenic 2. Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation 3. Mumm-ra - These Things Move in Threes
P.S. That Soundgarden thing isn't going to be dark noise rock that I'm hoping for from the cover, is it?
Edit: Crystal Castles aren't noise in any form, really, outside of a few tracks. Sonic Youth is noise rock, Sleigh Bells are noise pop. There's a difference.

What I really love about Daydream Nation is not only its influence on all of no wave and noise pop but it's obviously bluesy overtones which contribute to how relaxed the album as a whole. Although I describe the album as relaxed though, it is hugely discordant on some songs and almost trancey; I like an album with variety so this was well suited for me. I preferred the songs with the male vocalist than the female vocalist which isn't to say that she was bad (I really like the song Kool Thing on their album Goo) but I just feel that he was better suited to what they were doing. Silver Rocket wass definitely the highlight but all of the trilogy was also pretty sweet. Main problems stem from the fact that some bits just seemed to be random noise rather than actually have anything happening

Daydream Nation was great, I didn't think too much of it at first, it was just a good rock album the first time I listened to it, but the second time it caught me and now I really like it. I'd love to go all in-depth on it but I have too much stuff I need to do so I'm gonna go with that I thought a lot of the tracks were awesome, although The Sprawl and 'Cross the Breeze dragged on for too long in my opinion. On the other hand Teenage Riot, Silver Rocket and the Trilogy were awesome.
I also must mention Providence for being so atmospheric, I like these kind of moody and experimental songs, Providence did a nice job at giving the album a tad more variation, because whiel it never got boring, I can't say it's the most variating album evar.
1: Björk - Homogenic 2: Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation 3: Mumm-ra - These Things Move In Threes.

Right now that I've finishd that I can safely say that I really like Soundgarden. I liked Audioslave and Cornell's solo work before this and Superunknown added to my respect for him, his vocals are well suited to the kinda fun slow grunge with dark riffs. I don't share your sentiments that this is the best grunge album of all time because I prefer In Utero but this gave a jolly good go. Favourite tracks were Let Me Drown and 4th of July. Also very nice to see a well lengthed album (17 tracks, 70 minutes) and those guitar solos were just awesome.
1-Superunknown (Soundgarden) 2-Daydream Nation (Sonic Youth) 3-Homogenic (Bjork)

Titfuck, forgot to listen to Daydream Nation. Expect my full opinion tomorrowz. Anyway, my pick is: Soundgarden - Superunknown (1994)Fuck Nevermind, this is the best grunge album evar. While this album loses some of its charm about halfway through, it's still an amazing grunge experience with a touch of psychedelia to it. Unlike grunge bands like AIC, Soundgarden knows how to make dark songs without sounding depressing the whole time, there's still space for lighter songs such as Spoonman and My Wave. The lyrics are awesome, the guitar is awesome, Chris Cornell's voice is fucking divine and yeah, just an awesome album. Standout tracks are Superunknown, Black Hole Sun, Head Down and My Wave. Fun fact: Black Hole Sun, the lead single, had a very... Interesting video clip. Yo DrebWin is back n stuff. WHAT AN ALBUM CHOICE. Seriously, that's an awesome album, though I prefer Dirt by Alice in Chains just about. It's fun, it's got a nice mix-up of time signatures, the riffs aren't just power chords and 4th of July is damn heavy. The whole album largely just has this empowering, carefree feel that no other Grunge band really captures, and Chris Cornell's vocals are beastly. What a range that man had. Top tracks: Spoonman, Superunknown, 4th of July.

Haha, thanks guys. I never took a good listen to In Utero, maybe I should. At least I'm damn sure that I prefer Superunknown over Dirt.
Also, I was actually THIS close to choosing Badmotorfinger or Down on the Upside, these 2 are aweosme as well. Badmotorfinger is darker whiel Down on the Upside is a bit more upbeat, but I chose Superunknown because it combines these 2. You guys should check them out though, they're great.

Superunknown was... super boring. Perhaps it is my inability to enjoy these sorts of rock, but I was just waiting for something to damn happen throughout the entire record, but it didn't. Surely, some tracks like the titular Superunknown had great moments, but after the album was done, I couldn't remember a single song. So, overall, perhaps it's a grower, and I think I could possibly like it someday, but it failed to impress me at first.
P.S. Whose turn is it tomorrow?
1. Björk - Homogenic 2. Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation 3. Soundgarden - Superunkown 4. Mumm-ra - These Things Move in Threes
