Starbounders: Just finished this amazing book today. You know how I compared it to the Percy Jackson series before? Well, I think I actually like it better. It could either be the fact that it takes place in space (always a plus for me), or the fact that the story isn't always based around some prophecy (it got stale, percy). In the book they never had some pre-destined place to go to; events were always unpredictable and the feeling of being free to roam the entirety of space is a nice one. Meeting a bunch of different races and planets was really fun, too. And for once a book directed at this age group made me attached to a lot of the characters, even the not-so-nice ones. I'm so god-damn excited for the second book coming out in March. I knew the moment the book ended, no, even before it ended that they couldn't very well just leave such an expansive universe to one book. I need mooooooooore!
5/5

Warriors and Seekers are both guilty pleasure book series.
Also if you saw Lightning Thief before you read the book, you are a shame. Book is so much better than that disgrace of a movie.

I'm currently reading The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut. Damn good book, though I haven't gotten through much of it yet.

I haven't read that one yet, though I would believe what you say as Kurt Vonnegut is a damn good writer. And speaking of damn good writer, All Creature Great and Small by James Herriot really show his skill as a brilliant author.

Finishing up Piers Anthony's Blue Adept series. Once I'm done with it, I'll be moving onto the series of novels he's most known for, the Xanth series. I plan on reading those for the next few years while I wait for my usual series to get new books out.
Btw, if you enjoy fantasy, you owe it to yourself to read any of his works.

I... don't know how to feel about it. You guys need to NOT see the film eragon. I think I lost brain cells after watching it. Aside from explicitly changing various things, it leaves characters out (Katrina), kills them off when they are vital to later released entries (Sloan, Ra'zac) or just ruins any character development throughout book/movie. The inheritance cycle is stellar otherwise, I'd reccomend you (the reader of this) read it.

Had to read In The Shadow of Man for science class. It was actually really interesting to read about. It is mainly about the relationship of chimpanzees compared to humans.

I just finished Enduring Love by Ian McEwan for school. I must say that I enjoyed it rather a lot and the opening chapter is on the same level as Fight Club for how effectively it grips you and makes one continue reading. It is an interesting character study with solid usage of an unreliable narrator and keeps up a sense of intrigue but I feel that it slightly starts to lose the plot and feel like a cop out in the alst few chapters.

I finished Bartimaeus: The Amulet Of Samarkand, and am now being disappointed by The Golem's Eye. Amulet of Samarkand opened really damn well, with a lot of Bartimaeus's Witty commentary and what not. Golem's eye opens up really boring and failed to hook, so i slogged through hoping that Bartimaeus would appear soon. He didn't appear until, what, the 7th chapter? Couldn't it have started off with Bartimaeus being summoned and then switch to what happened before he was summoned just like the first book? It would've opened the book a lot better in my opinion. And then there's Kitty, who has no personality outside of ,Brash, Arrogant and a fucking moron, well at least she's better than the other Resistance members who have no personality to speak of. How is her story arc even connected to what the hell Nathanial is doing anyway, besides her being responsible for freeing a rampaging Afrit, which leads me to another problem. THIS BOOK DOESN'T KEEP IT'S FUCKING FOCUS ON ONE THING! It starts out with Nathanial investigating how to track down the Resistance but then It switches to a mysterious thing that destroys a part of Piccadilly which Nathanial must investigate, Bartimaeus finds out that it's a golem and they travel to Prague so to get more answers about Golems and who could've summoned one. Then, after Kitty releases the Afrit guarding Gladstones tomb, which then goes on a rampage and Bartimaues and Nathanial must stop it Now, I haven't finished the book, so maybe it will tie up all the loose ends and constanting shifting around by the end, but so far i find The Golem's Eye to be inferior to The Amulet Of Samarkand

So, I finished The Golem's Eye and am now starting to read Sabriel.
I'm too early into Sabriel to give any informed opinions about it, so i'll wait until i'm further in.
As i said before, The Golem's Eye is inferior to it's predecessor, but at least the ending is nice and wraps everything up
