Played Prime, Fusion and Other M
I loved the first two, but I wish the third had a bit more gameplay...

Super Metroid is my favorite, with Prime following close behind. Never played Prime 2...

Fusion is my favorite. I hope that a new game will come out on 3ds or WiiU eventually.

Fusion is my favorite. I hope that a new game will come out on 3ds or WiiU eventually. Well Fusion was one of the games given out under the 3DS ambassador programme. Aside from that though Nintendo don't seem to have any plans to release GBA games onto the 3DS.

Now that i think about it, it's kind of selfish to hate Other M for the way Samus was portrayed.
According to Sakamoto, Samus was a character whose personality was based on the interpretation of the player. Other M was an experiment to portray Samus the way Sakamoto envisioned her all along. In other words, Samus was a visual representation of Sakamoto's OPINION. If you didn't like how she was portrayed, the that's fine, but it's not fair to hate the entire game just because she wasn't what you expected.

I don't hate the entire game - I enjoyed the third person gameplay. What sucks about the way Samus was handled in Other M is that Sakamoto is the guy in charge, so his interpretation is the one we're forever stuck with.

I think the guy deserves to put his opinion out there. Heck, some people like how she was portrayed.

Good for him to our his opinion out there, but his is the only one that matters since he's in charge and he'll likely continue to force this interpretation of Samus on us.

I don't really think he will. Again, I think the game was just an experiment, and that it was supposed to subtly inject Sakamoto's opinion. I think that the next Metroid game will go back to the tradition of Samus basically having no personality and every personality at the same time.

I hope that sometime, they take another stab at exploring her character. Giving her a fleshed-out story, character flaws, and dialogue was not a bad idea at all. I just wish the actual writing was better. Then again I don't know how much of the script's vomit-worthy moments were chalked up to bad localization. I do know that Samus's flatline delivery was a cultural thing that failed to translate though. (Thanks, GaijinGoombah) But with the backlash that Other M has received, I don't know what to expect.

I would like to have a proper introduction to this series. I've only played the original and the demo for Prime Hunters (it was packaged with my first DS). I enjoyed the original to an extent, but I hated not having any idea of where I was supposed to go. I also tried Zero Mission on an emulator, but the keyboard controls were so clunky that I couldn't stand more than five minutes of gameplay.

Super Metroid was meh, Other M was fun, Fusion was scary, Prime was epic.
Don't question what I say, as I am NOT answering.
