.... Was that because of the 'hate' post by Frollo? Jin is crazy asshole, but he does get his character development so he is also less murderous as time passes. However, if there's one thing you need to know of Jin, in basic way, it's just that he's a jackass supreme that likes launching death threats. Oh, and heavy bro-obsession or sorts. Yeah, except he's President Snow now lol (ironic isn't it?) I guess I can't say until I play it myself.

I don't hate Big The Cat. Why? Well, how many games was Big The Cat playable in? Like, 3?! Seriously, you call a character who has been playable in about 3 games the worst character in the Sonic universe?

I like Silver... from Sonic '06... I'm dead serious...
Look, the story in general might have been a mess, I admit that, and you could say that Silver was a bit annoying and even compare him to MGS2 Raiden, but out of all the three main characters, he was the only one I cared about. Speaking of which....
I also like MGS2 Raiden

Seriously, you call a character who has been playable in about 3 games the worst character in the Sonic universe? That has nothing to do with how bad of a character he is. Black Doom appeared only once and is actually worse writing-wise, and Elise... don't get me started. In fact, fewer appearances is probably a testament to how bad they are. And for those who like Silver, I haven't heard any explanations as to why he's so good (for all the times someone bashed me indirectly for criticizing him).

I like Bridget from Guilty Gear. Not because lolmemes, but because I think he's adorable.
Seriously, get past the crossdressing thing and he's just a cute boy with goofy animations and a fun fighting style. The EVERYONE'S GAY FOR BRIDGET thing does get obnoxious after a while, but I think he has merits beyond that.
Plus how can you go wrong with a yo-yo for a weapon. Honestly.

I think Sanic is overhated. He is my uncle and I must defend him.

Actually, you should be patting yourself on the back for being quite possibly the only person on the planet who has halfway decent reasons for disliking Silver. I liked him for a few reasons. First, I liked how he played. Yeah, I like Sonic '06. You get the idea. I just don't think it's fair to hate a character for his play style when it was poorly coded by accident. Second, I like his story and concept. The idea of a psychokinetic futurenaught just does me in. I get that people didn't like the implied romance in Sonic '06, but what I really don't understand is why Shadow and Silver's stories are bashed so much. I thought the writing was excellent.

Cream the Rabbit - Sure, she is a rabbit, a kid and an annoying voice. My reply: Rabbits are cute, there are several more child characters in the Sonic universe and voice.. Really? A lot of Sonic characters have terrible voices. Besides, Cream is freakin adorable. And she's a tank with her chao Cheese in Sonic Advance 2.
Tidus - Yes, he is annoying, you have complete rights to mention. But he also has done some respectable things, including the final scene(s) with Jecht in Dissidia 012.

I actually think him being an annoying brat makes him more human. People are generally annoying and self-entitled, though some less than others. RPGs basically either have Cecils, Clouds, or Zidanes as their protagonists, and I think Tidus does a good job of combining all the archetypes. Even if the final product is cringeworthy, more often than not.

Make the character more human, and they nitpick them as annoying and irritating. Whereas people say 'the more human the character, the better'. What is it do fans want anyway?

It's just that characters that 'are more human' are often bashed. Wonder why though? Going from the FF example... I don't see anyone complaining on Auron. Does this mean most just want everyone to be escapism badass like Auron?

Does this mean most just want everyone to be escapism badass like Auron? That's sort of a perception thing with me. I also find Auron to be really human. In fact, the whole cast of X save for Rikku and Yuna at certain points. But a lot of people might find the appeal of Auron to be he has a big sword and kicks ass. So, generally, some people might perceive a character differently.

Linebeck. F***ing Linebeck.
Alright. To be fair, he isn't one of those characters that everyone can like. He's one of those characters that is a prick at first, but goes through genuine development. For example, if you're lucky, you will receive a letter from Linebeck in the mail saying how he's glad to have Link as a friend, but he's too embarrassed to tell him that in person. Secondly, at the end of the game, the Ocean King grants Linebeck one wish, and instead of wishing for money or treasure, he asks for his sunken ship back. This shows how he's grown from being a coward(which I believe had to do with his own self doubt) to a rather likeable fellow. If you like Groose of all people, you'll probably like this guy.
The same can be said for Zelda in Spirit Tracks. That one scene where she goes on about Chancellor Cole taking her body was really just part of the game's humor. The fact that Zelda actually helps you in Spirit Tracks makes her one of few incarnations of Zelda that you actually care for.
