Update time!
I'm beginning to form a solid idea of how the plot progresses in both parts 1 and 2, and I've completed the background story. I've made all the important antagonists and NPCs, and I have a few ideas for those missing skills. If you have anything to add or if you don't like certain aspects or ideas, please let me know.
First, the background.
Long ago, the world was united. There were no barriers, no nations, no rifts, no large-scale wars. The continent of Micalis was not without conflict, but humanity as a whole advanced as one. Separate nations were a foreign concept.
Then a single sword came into existence. A sword fused with the power of pure chaos, its unreal power attracted many people to it and eventually spread strife across Micalis. The turmoil became so great that the continent finally divided into multiple nations.
Since that time, two militant empires have emerged on Micalis - Ragna and Tenchi (previously Izana, which I changed to Tenchi because I thought that sounded better). They came to be as a result of two countries deciding to conquer others, forming empires. Their desire for conquest and differing ideologies led to a mutual hatred between the two empires.
Realizing that this division came about as a result of the chaotic weapon Thanatos (totally not a Soul Edge ripoff btw /sarcasm), the sages of the Algol kingdom decided to seal the power within and lock the sword away.
And while the everlasting conflict threatens to embroil the entire continent, chaos itself lies dormant... waiting...
Now, the skills.
The Bow Knight has Corrosion and Marksman. Corrosion works similar to how it did in the Tellius games - breaks an enemy's weapon with a trigger rate of Skill divided by 2. Marksman raises Hit by 10 and Crit by 5.
The Monk has Parity and Underdog. Underdog works exactly like it did in Awakening for the Villager. Parity allows the user to ignore environment effects (woods that provide +1 Def and +10 Avo) that favor the opponent.
The Mage Fighter has Ignis and Rally Spectrum, which are the same as they are in Awakening. The only difference is that Rally Spectrum raises all stats by +2, so it's not broken.
The Falcon Knight has Bond (same as the Bride class skill in Awakening) and Nullify, which negates bonus damage received from bows and wind magic.
The Dark Flier has Rally Movement and Lifetaker.
The Bishop has Sereneheart and Divinity. Sereneheart raises Avo by 30 and Def by 4 when the unit's HP is 1/4 or less. Divinity completely protects the unit from critical hits.
The Mage Knight has Adept and Flare. Adept works the same as it does in Path of Radiance, and Flare is basically Luna for magic (it halves or completely ignores Res).
The Shaman has Stun and Nihil. Stun gives the unit the optional command to paralyze a unit for their phase, with the drawback being that the damage output is cut in half. Nihil negates enemy skills.
Also, Palladia has been removed from the setting since I can't find a use for it, and because it's tricky to work into an RP.

Thanks, I was about to ask for ideas for skills. Haven't completely played through Path of Radiance yet so I don't quite know what skills are in there.
Now all I need is a decent map maker. Still looking.

I'll compile a list of what skills do when the RP actually starts, don't worry.

Update time again!
I haven't worked much on the story lately, mainly because I've been getting ideas for what I want to do in upcoming countdowns. I'm out of school this week though, so that opens up lots more time for me to think of ideas for the story.
I have a general idea for how the plot progresses in Part 1 and I'm currently thinking about Part 2. Part 1's not going to be too plot-heavy, since I want us to have time to get used to the RP before I start posting lots of dialogue. (Assuming I make the NPC dialogue) A few things have changed though.
Part 1 chronicles a war between Ragna and Tenchi, the two rival empires. We're playing for the Ragna side. It's a rather basic story from there and I'll pretty much come up with specific things as we go along.
The part 1 antagonists are...
Jin (Unique class)
The emperor of the Tenchi empire in part 1. A straightforward man who will take lives without hesitation, yet is not overtly violent or sadistic. He's a man of few words who prefers action to dialogue. (So don't put a Metal Gear Solid game in front of him.) He invades the Ragna empire, causing the events of part 1.
Kokone (Troubadour)
The princess of the Tenchi empire. A selfless woman with a passionate hatred for violence. Frequently questions the reasons behind the Ragna-Tenchi wars and the motives of her father. Frequently meets with (Lord) and his army to discuss ways to end the fighting early.
Shinji (Paladin)
One of three top generals in the Tenchi military. He is best described as a snake, unlike the other powers in the Tenchi empire who are straightforward in their methods. He is an arrogant tool who cares not for soldiers' lives and will send his men to certain death in the name of victory. While his arrogant and underhanded, he is no slouch himself in battle.
Mitsurugi (Hero)
The second of the trio of Tenchi generals. A straightforward and honorable swordsman who hates cowards more than anything. While easy to take advantage of, he relies on power alone for a good reason.
Hachiman (Wyvern Lord)
The last of the three premier generals of Tenchi, and the most feared. Referred to as the War God, he is exceedingly violent and lives for the fight. Despite his demeanor of a mindless beast, he's actually quite intelligent.
And other NPCs (Ragna's, specifically)...
Kallian (Unique class)
The emperor of the Ragna empire in part 1. A level-headed and shrewd man who outsmarts Jin in the art of war, making up for the power deficit. A good ruler and a well-intentioned man, but he tends to let emotion get the better of him in the heat of the moment. The father of Levias and (Lord).
Levias (Halberdier)
The older brother of (Lord) and Kallian's future successor as Ragna emperor. He is a moral man who loves his people and his family. Though he puts on a brave demeanor and appears to have little doubt, he's secretly quite insecure and often relies on advisors for help, despite being highly capable on his own. When he is sure of something though, good luck swaying him.
Janus (Bishop)
A newcomer among Ragna's military and political advisors, but one who has shown remarkable skill in both areas. Earns the trust of Kallian and his family quickly. He is a good-natured man but mysterious in his origin and background.
And that's what I have so far. A couple of other things though...
Since we plan to have a second generation, should the few girls participating be able to make multiple characters at once? Should each pair get to make more than one baby?
Also, who do you have in mind for the Lord role?

Smaller update this time. BoomPig sent me a concept for a secondary antagonist today, and I loved it, so here (copied and pasted from his message):
He will be fought in part 1 to make it a bit more interesting since it's not plot heavy. Also, he's contracted by someone who plays a large role in part 2, so he could make for excellent foreshadowing. Thanks, BoomPig!

I'll be using this account now... didn't know it still existed... sooooo.... still and Archer.... should we start posing out bios? You can think about your character and class, but I don't think we're ready for bios yet. Nap still doesn't have a suitable RPG map maker as far as I know.
