Don't you have to pick a base class first?
Also, question about the story before I decide on ideas. Do you mind if it contains several FE conventions such as the Camus archetype? Or do you want something more fresh?

Druid in this RP is a base class. I messed with the classes a bit. Shamans are the promoted class now. Read the post for the info.
Also refresh my memory what the Camus archetype is. I'm guessing Camus is a character from Shadow Dragon because I still have yet to play that game.

The Camus character is the antagonist who's a good guy personality-wise but fights for the wrong side out of misguided loyalty. Other examples are Uhai/Linus/Lloyd from FE7, Selena from FE8, Galle from FE6, and Ishtar (I think) from FE4.

That's not a bad archetype to have, if typical. Wouldn't hurt to include it.
Alse FE4's version in that case would be Raquesis's brother. Can't remember his name off the top of my head.

So I came up with some country names tonight. They're not final, but...
Setting is the continent of Alexandria. Nations therein are Micalis, Ragna, Palladia, Algol, Verderium. The only ones I'm set on keeping are Ragna and Palladia, unless someone by chance wanted to name their character Ragna. I just sorta came up with names at random until I found out that both Ragna and Palladia are based on mythology, so I'd like to continue that trend.
Ragna is the aggressive empire and the main group of antagonists for most of the story, and Palladia is the allied country to which our heroes turn in a time of need. Think Gallia from FE9 only without the whole beorc-laguz racism thing. Right now I have Verderium as the isolationist beast nation. I'll probably change the name up a bit, but I want the name to reflect being close to nature. Which makes sense given that it's a beast nation.
If anyone has other ideas, please share them!
(I might be over thinking all this, but I don't care)
Update: Made all the decisions on continent and country names. Just need the OK from Nap.
Micalis is the continent. I just wanted an excuse to use the name since I thought it sounded cool.
Verderium/Viridium's name is now Artemis, unless you liked the former better.
Izana (named after the Shinto creation deities Izanami and Izanagi) is a neutral holy empire.
Algol (not really based on mythology but I don't care, I like the way it sounds) is the kingdom from which the main characters hail.

Eh, the problem with Algol is that someone in Fire Emblem already has that name. But it's a generic boss in Awakening so I guess it doesn't really matter. The only reason I know that is because he's the Bolt Axe Berserker.
Other than that, seems fine. We can use them.

I would go with Druid, just tell me when you want a back-story.

Oh if only there was an alchemist class... (I'd be like Pop Fizz from Skylanders...) Anyways, I'll be an Archer, and I'm going to come up with someone... considering Virion was like a blue Edgeworth, I'll make my guy a Red Phoenix.

So I was just looking through a list of archetypes to see which conventions I should avoid, and I found out that there are characters in the Archanea games named Artemis and Michalis and I completely forgot about both of them. Granted Artemis never makes an onscreen appearance, but... ugh. I don't really care enough to go back and spend more time on that though.
Anyway, I'm now coming up with the antagonists. After that, I'll get to the background and plot since it's easier if you have characters in mind. I will try to deviate from typical FE fare, but I recognize that you pretty much need a bad guy empire and a corrupt ruler and that kind of thing. The way they're written will be where it counts, it seems...
