The Rules
Not Recommended
White Knight Threads
Now, we appreciate you guys trying to defend other users. Some of us appreciate the courage to not see the admins as someone you should be afraid of and call us out on certain things. However... a lot of the time I've seen people do stuff like this, it's usually just "Go easy on [User] because ______". Nobody is exempt from the rules. Plus it generally doesn't go well and results in someone being warned for crossing a line that shouldn't have been crossed. So for the love of God, avoid making these.
Threads about Banned People
I'm fine if you want to know what happened, as I feel nothing should be hidden from you guys (to an extent. There's stuff that do need to be kept under wraps on the occasion.) But something like this, well people will find out regardless. It can't be helped. So of course people will start asking questions. Well when someone decides to make a thread asking where said person went, it generally turns into a "bash the banned" thread, and I SERIOUSLY disapprove of this. Multiple warnings generally occur because of these. Don't make them; they cause nothing but trouble for you guys and a mess for us to clean up.
Attack Threads
Basically, threads made for no reason other than to attack someone for their stupidity. Now, on the occasion, a thread can be made about someone having done something minorly stupid and hey, get a good laugh about it. Yet if it's something bigger... they tend to turn into a hate-fest. And where do these go? Nowhere good, that's for sure.
Asking for Staff Position
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be a mod or help out the forum. I appreciate that. But trust me, if we decide we want another mod, we'll let you guys know. Beyond that, these usually just waste time.
Insulting Bots
There's really no point in it. So it IS appreciated if you don't bother, but the main reason this is here- you MAY accidentally insult an actual user. If you do... well then, this leads to trouble. Better to be safe than sorry.
Pointless Posts
By this I mean you really shouldn't waste time just to go to a thread you probably don't care about just to post "I don't care" or something equally as dumb. I've seen this happen rather frequently lately, and I just don't get it. Why post something that means nothing? You're more likely to piss people off and get chewed out for it.
Complaining About the Forum
Make a suggestion if you have a problem with something and we'll address it. And if you absolutely hate the Chaos Theatre, then leave. It's as simple as that.
Junior Moderation
I can't speak for any of the other staff members, but this flat out pisses me off, and I see it way more often than I care to see. If you don't have the authority of a mod, THEN DON'T ACT LIKE IT. If a staff member says "Oi don't do that", for the love of God, don't repeat what we already said or any crap like that. Trust me; we're plenty competent enough to take care of just about any issue without you throwing in your two cents about the matter. If you need to call a staff member out... that's different. But beyond that...
Minor
Plagiarism
This has never been a major problem, but this IS, however, illegal. Please don't create something and then try to pass something off that someone else made as your own.
Spamming
Nothing serious as well, but consistent spamming can prove to be problematic and annoying. An oversized signature pretty much counts as spam because it gets in the way. If we have a problem, then we'll PM you and let you know that you need to change it.
Also, if you already have a personal Question and Answer Thread, don't make another one; it's unnecessary and spams the forum. This is not the same as a single question thread, i.e. "Why has my computer stopped working".
Whining / Immaturity / Drama
This is pretty much another general forum etiquette thing. If you're old enough to be here, you're old enough to act mature without bringing drama here. We don't want drama here because it pisses people off. Some general examples are:
Basically, it's pretty simple. These are just general examples, but are mostly common problems we see here. To put it in simple terms, don't be a crybaby, and don't be a drama queen.
Moderate
Disrespect
Nobody here deserves to be treated like garbage. Do so and there might be some trouble. Hate threads also fall under this category.
Keep in mind that there's a major difference between "respect" and "respectful". We're not going to ask you to hold anyone here in high regard. We're asking you to, basically, be nice, polite and courteous. Don't start disrespecting someone just because their opinion differs from yours. Don't be condescending, and don't be a pretentious douche.
Negative Trolling
Now, there's harmless trolling and then there's trolling to intentionally upset someone. We don't mind harmless fun, but when you're trying to upset someone, then we have a problem.
Major
Threatening Users
This is inexcusable. Joking about it is a very risky matter, I'd advise you not to in the event someone takes it seriously (because we won't take your side.) but if you're actually threatening a user, then you're subject to serious action.
Posting Porn
This is an instant-ban offence. There are many users under the age of 18 here and we don't need this kind of stuff here. This also includes links to porn. If you want to post artwork that has some kind of nudity or anything that might require an NSFW tag, then clear it with the admins first. If you don't, then you're subject to harsh action. 9/10 times though, the answer will be "no".
Removing the Seal of Approval
If Camelslayer removes his seal of approval, he will get banned. This has been approved by all admins, all mods, and whatever users agree with it.
And below are the old, temporary rules. They're only there for reference, they do not apply anymore.

Whining / Immaturity / Drama
This is pretty much another general forum etiquette thing. If you're old enough to be here, you're old enough to act mature without bringing drama here. We don't want drama here because it pisses people off. Some general examples are:
- Don't start complaining because something doesn't go your way in an RP.
- Don't publicly start beating the snot out of yourself because you're trying to get sympathy. It's one thing to say "Okay, I'm an idiot for saying that, sorry", it's another to say that and go on and on and on and on about it. That's just flat out being a crybaby.
- "I'm leaving because I don't belong here" threads are a major annoyance of the admins. The only reason to do this is pretty much trying to get pity points. It's petty and ridiculous. If you want to leave, don't give a long speech about how unwelcome and unappreciated you are, how much of a terrible person you are or whatever. One, because we know exactly what you're doing, and two, the likelihood that you'll actually do it is slim to none anyway, so you're effectively spamming.
- For heaven's sake, don't ask for a ban or tell the admins that we can ban you. We know we have this option available; we'll use it if the circumstances are dire enough, and we sure as heck don't need permission to do so. To a degree, that also includes not asking us to ban you to keep you away from the forum for a set period of time. Not to sound mean, but show some restraint yourself, don't drag us into whatever situation that you're in. It's just more drama for us that we don't want and questions from users that we have to answer.

Ok, so until we get some actual rules up, let's get some basic things down.
Rule 1: No Harassment. Picking fun is all fine and dandy, but when it stops being fun, it should stop. If it doesn't, you're out of line.
Rule 2: No Spamming. Nobody wants to see that shit.
Rule 3: No Pornography/Erotic Content. There are children present.
Rule 4: The Lord of the Ass is your god... ok, disregard Rule 4.
Rule 5: NO MORE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SITE BEING ON PROBOARDS! We're working on it, be thankful you have a site to post on. =l
