Well, its that time again. Lets speculate on who will be in the next Smash Bros...
Meloetta
I know you all are looking at me and saying WTF, but hear me out. In the upcoming anime season, Meloetta will have a starring role, and seeing how the anime influences the Pokemon Characters, this seams likely...
Ghirahim
Skyward Sword advertising...
Paper Mario
Advertising an entire miniseries...
Issac
Golden Sun helps represent the GBA...
Who do you guys think will be in?

I'm thinking either Zoroark or Victini.

Girahim is not gonna be in it. Wake up people. It's just a supporting character from ONE game. Everyone is asking for him, and it's as annoying as everyone asking for Midna when Brawl was announced. It's a freaking supporting character, that appeared in only one game. Entering the Smash Bros. series takes up more than that when it comes to big series like Zelda.
Paper Mario... Well, I'm not a fan of the idea, but it's not as bad an idea as some other suggestions like Geno or Rosalina or Toad or Daisy or Waluigi or Birdo. Anyway, even if he's not in it, there HAS to be a Paper Mario stage. that'd be awesome.
Meloetta ? That's actually not a bad idea. But I think Zoroark will take the role, since he's the most representative Pokémon of Gen V. But yeah, it'd be cool to have Meloetta as a Pokéball. Same thing for Victini, though I think he's quite a bad idea for a fighter. I think he'll be the equivalent to Mew, celebi, and Jirachi... or maybe he'll just kill everybody with V-Create.

Except Ghirahim is a major antagonist from Skyward Sword who pretty much has a moveset set up for himself already. It wouldn't be too much of a surprise if he did get in.
Anyway, I guarantee Sakurai is going to use SSB4 to promote Kid Icarus Uprising in some way. If it were up to me, I'd include either Palutena, Magnus, Medusa, Dark Pit, or Phosphora, but who knows.
Also I'd want to see Phoenix Wright with a better moveset than he had in UMvC3. I don't care about Megaman, I'll take a goofy lawyer over a robot any day.

Aye, Ghirahim is too much of a newcomer to represent such a long running series. Even Tingle would be a better choice in that respect (although worse in almost every other). Paper Mario seems a bit unlikely too, there's plenty of Mario characters already. Zoroark seems like the most logical choice for Pokémon though. Now, for the characters I'd like to see: - Professor Layton: He's an interesting and unusual character (His games remind me a lot of those Tintin comics actually), and it would be good advertisement for the smaller Nintendo exclusives. He could have Luke faffing about in the background, helping with certain moves.
- Darmanitan: YES I KNOW HE'LL NEVER GET IN. But this is a list of characters I would like to see, and I just love Darmanitan. It's a gorilla with eyebrows made of fire that can punch through a dump truck, what more could you wish for?
- Black Mage and Fighter: I know Nintendo and Squeenix aren't as good friends as they were back in the day, but the original Final Fantasy was one of the most influential and successful on the NES. Besides, Black Mage has been in that Mario basketball game already, so why not SSB4? And I'd pick Black Mage and Fighter over the other four because they just seem like the biggest opposites. Fighter is a heavy melee fighter, while Black Mage is a light(ish) ranged fighter.
- Simon Belmont and/or Dracula: Castlevania games have always been a big part of Nintendo's library, and I feel it deserves to be in the roster. I can't decide whether Simon or Dracula (or both) should join, since they're both equally significant to the series.
Also, Ganondorf needs his own moveset. Him not being a swordfighter doesn't make any sense anymore. Sword duels with Ganondorf (or what has to pass for him) have been the final final battle with him since the Wind Waker.

Meh, I'm also not a fan of the idea of having non-Nintendo characters in there. I like my Smash Bros. 100% Nintendo. But hey, as long as they don't go too far... And if they don't use this as a marketing argument, as with Brawl... Seriously, half the box says "SONIC AND SNAKE ARE IN IT"...

Yeah, I wouldn't want it to stray too far away from the Nintendo idea. I just think that those I mentioned had quite a few significant games released on a Nintendo platform.
Unlike Snake and Sonic.

True, but I'd say Ghirahim is still different because he's integral to the plot of the one single game he's in, unlike Lucario. Besides, the release schedule of both series is vastly different. It makes sense to use a new Pokémon as an advertisement for a new Pokémon game/generation. With Zelda though, most games are hyped a lot more, and don't need the extra advertisement. Not to mention that most people that buy an SSB game are also quite likely to buy Zelda games already, I assume.

I'm hoping for a Mii character to appear. A fully customizable character would be cool.

I just want to see a better story mode!! Like with actuall voice acting! Ahahahaha no. Super Smash Bros. is a multiplayer game through and through. Brawl proved that trying to put too much time into a story mode at all was a bad idea, so I think they should just focus more on the multiplayer and add multiple single player modes after the fact. And make the adventure mode more like Melee's--short and simple. Also, I have plans for a discussion like this in the near future, even if it doesn't involve characters...

Actually, I think the biggest problem was that it wasn't recognizable enough. The environments and enemies were usually just... meh. Only a few existing characters were used as bosses, and only Skyworld and the Halberd weren't newly made up, bland environments. Although Skyworld was an old bland environment. Maybe they should have gone with a good guys vs. bad guys story, like Dissidia, and make it take place in each series' world, and add some gameplay elements of it to each stage. Y'know who I'd actually like to see as a fighter? Shigeru Miyamoto. No, I'm dead serious. He's pretty much the face of Nintendo, and put the company on the map. He's either the father of or had a big influence on the Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Kid Icarus, Mother, F-Zero and Star Fox franchises. Besides, why not? It would be hilarious.

I found the ultimate story for the Adventure mode.
All the heroes and villains will find themselves trapped in some sort of gigantic maze made of levels from different worlds. From then on, they will meet other characters, and either team up or fight. Each character will have its own independant story, meeting different characters and going through different levels. In the end, your character is the one that makes it to the final battle : after a fight against a replica of you assisted by the Fighting Team (Polygons, Wire Frames, Alloys, ...) your are challenged by Master Hand and Crazy Hand. However, it turns out they weren't the ultimate battle. they were controlled by... A Mii of Sigheru Miyamoto. THIS is the ultimate battle. And in the end, it turns out that this was all a test to determinate who was the ultimate fighter of the Smash Universe : YOU.
I still have to find a way to have it work in Co-op, along with a way for it not to be too boring since you would have to do it with each character to unlock everything.
