Didn't see that coming did ya!?
Wow. Hard to believe I came back here. It's been...5 or 6 years. I forgot when we decided to shut the last version of the site. But yeah, here we are again.
Now some of you may be asking, why? Why on earth am I reviving this specific forum, with its history of drama, at a time where forums have been rendered obsolete by platforms like Discord, Guilded, Facebook....reddit...twitter...ugh. Well, my friends (if anyone is going to view this), Tell you the truth I'm not entirely sure myself. Maybe it's nostalgia for the good ol' days, maybe it's an experiment to see if Forums still have a place on the modern internet, maybe I wanted to recreate a small community. But I thought, you know what, for old times sake, why not try an attempt at necromancy and see how this goes and have thus decided to reopen The Chaos Theatre. Now I haven't reopened everything just yet, I'm working on it and getting used to everything again. But hey, enjoy yourselves.
Do I expect this forum to get big again? Nah...not really. The days of this forum being a relatively sizable community with big names backing it is long over. I don't think it'll ever be big again, for all I know it'll probably stay dead. To anyone returning, consider this a bit of reunion only nobody's going to kick you out at a certain time.
So have fun guys!

Got my ProBoards account back. Here's to old times and (hopefully) new times.
I'm going to regurgitate a lot of what I said in the discord (which should probably also be linked somewhere here eventually) I think we should refocus and rebrand as a site for amateur/indie creatives. It's a natural extension of our original focus around the countdown community, especially with things in the sites history like Forum Fantasy. I think Avarill actually sort of had this idea with V4 with the home page but never took it far enough. A homepage spotlighting projects, a focus on things like guides for content creation and indie development, all that sort of stuff. Forums biggest strength, one that I think was lost in the modern age of social media, was the ability and focus on archiving information and having it an easily readable, searchable place. Leaning into that will give this necromancy a purpose, and with a purpose will come growth and hopefully a new community, and hopefully one that won't repeat the mistakes of the old.
Which does bring me to say that rebranding should be considered. It was said in the discord, but this place has a long history. I started using this forum when I was 13. I'm 20 now. A lot has changed since then, both as people and the internet. That doesn't mean the stigma of the TCT name hasn't gone away, and I bet if you went up to the old guard who got burned by this place, like Alex Rochon and joshscorcher, they'd dismiss this place without a second thought.
Finally, and something I haven't said in the discord, but you did say you will need new staff. I'm more than happy to fill a position and try to see this place come to life again, even if only a fraction of it.
