In gaming history, there has always been games stuck in development hell.Games that take too many years to come out,and when they do,people dont really care for the game anymore,or find it dissapointing As such, some gamers have decided that delayed games should never be released. But,why can't we give this games a chance?
Sure, delayed games have dissapointed many people, but i dont remember a delayed game (except duke nukem forever,Aliens CM,Ride to hell and i guess diablo 3) being really that bad
And yes,a delayed game maybe will not satisfy your expectations, but if the result is still a great game,i dont really see the problem.
And i have hope for delayed games, because a recent game that has come out this year was delayed 2 years and is the best game of the year so far (havent played Bravely Default yet)....South Park the stick of truth
The game plays well, its funny as hell, looks exactly as the show, and is hands down one of the best licensed games of all time
So,if a south park game,a game purely based on humour, can be great,i think games like battlefront 3,the witcher 3,half life 3,and specially The last guardian (i swear that game will become my favourite game of all time) can be given a second chance
Well, thats my opinion, what do you think?

The thing about Colonial Marines and DNF is that they were barely being made when they were "in development". Duke Nukem Forever went through an unknown number of builds before 3D Realms kicked the bucket. Gearbox later picked up the pieces, ironed some edges out and released it.
And Aliens. Holy shit Aliens. That's more of a Timegate game than a Gearbox game and they had only been attached to it for about a year. Aliens wasn't "delayed" because they needed to touch things up, it was delayed because they needed to fucking start it.
Generally, when a game is delayed, there's cause behind it. I think game's are announced too early which makes things like delays sting way more than they should. Compare the 2004 trailer of Twilight Princess to the 2005 trailer and then compare that to the final game and see how much had changed. The 2004 trailer was basically a totally different game.

I usually don't mind delayed games.
When a game gets cancelled, that's when I throw a hissy fit.

Well Miyamoto disagrees.

Not bad at all, delay it as long as necessary to send out complete product. I'll use SotN PS version as an example, rushing to get it out stuff was left out of the old PS version of SotN that would have been neat to have in it.

I would like to quote Shigeru Miyamoto.
In other words, don't rush games.

No, it's not inherently bad. At all.

I'd rather have a delayed game than a bad game.
