Detective work, robots, romance, and space. All here for you to read.
CHAPTER 1:
Chapter 1: Vera, my love
Lewis awoke on a memory foam mattress. He was awoken by an alarm clock, playing the song “Viva La Vida”. A screen on the wall to his right said “8:00 Wake up.”
He got up and pushed a button on a night stand. The image on the screen changed. “Hygiene”
Lewis obeyed, and then walked into the bathroom. The Bathroom was filled with smooth, black tiles, each one heated. There were a few potted plants near a window sill, and a very large bathtub on the right side of the room, with 2 sinks on the left side. He showered up and changed and then looked at the screen again. “Greet significant other.”
He walked downstairs to a kitchen and dining room. The floors were made from processed wood, and in the center of the room was a bar table with a stove on one side. Lewis sat down and greeted the woman preparing him breakfast.
“Hello, Vera.” He said.
Vera was a 5’ 9” robot. Her body was covered in some sort of shiny, silvery metal, though some parts were an obsidian black color. In place of eyeballs, her body had a sort of visor on it; with a blue light going from one end to the other like a pendulum. She wore a black dress. On her body and dress were a few glowing lines. Her body was obviously designed to draw the eye towards her.
Vera smiled and said “Good morning, Lewis”. Her voice was soft and feminine though it sounded like it went through an auto-tuner. She handed Lewis a plate of French Toast. “How did you sleep?”
Lewis answered “I slept well. You?”
Vera chuckled. “You know I don’t sleep. I just recharge for two hours a day! My night was fine, though. I watched the Lion King movie.”
Lewis said “Oh, did you like it?”
Vera smiled “Yes, Lewis. It was interesting.”
Lewis nodded and then got to eating. After finishing, he got up, leaving the plates to Vera. He brushed his teeth and then walked back to the kitchen, where Vera was waiting for him. Lewis looked at her a moment and then kissed her. He said “Say, gear-bunny, why don’t I call in sick today, and you and I-“
Vera answered “We’re needed at work.”
Lewis frowned “But copper-cheeks….”
Vera said “If you like, I can injure you in a fashion that might make you unable to work a few days.”
Lewis sighed and said “Alright. Let’s go see what our job will be today.” He walked over to a screen near the door, and read what it said.
“Current case: Destroyed TWR drone in back of ship.”
