Then we wound up in some strange towers and became ultimate mods with special jobs. We came back to the forums to find 3 years (it was 3, right?) had taken place in our absence. We went about, killed several of the 8 remaining trot generals, and neutralized a mecha version of botlantis, which somehow landed us here. Did I miss anything, guys?"

You got it, Masterchef, except it was five years. And now we're in an alternate timeline that was caused by a giant wave of Banhammer of Dawn explosions.
*More tendrils appear and grab the trams, dragging them down onto an alternate track going downwards*

Using my glove to control the Katana without holding it, I start hack at the monster's eyes while fending off the tentacles with the Assassin Blade.
