Yeah, it does get boring. That's why get a job or a hobby. It gets boring if you can just do it, that's why working and coming home to do it makes it sweeter.

Yeah well gamming was my hobbie, getting a job is a little ahead of me at the moment, and I have the social life of a hermit. This could be a few things, either I realy am getting board, or I'm going through cynicism again. But with games being cranked out every year with little innovation and shallow stories, its hard not to be, the only people who seem to know to make a game (inde excluded) is the Japanese, but don't sell well out of Asia because people see an androgynous guy on the cover and wrote it off as "gay", so they don't make more because there not selling well, leaving a vacuum of copy and paste games.

I really don't see gaming as a hobby, it's more of a pastime for me. I do other things like help out sports teams and try out for plays. It's fun and you meet new people. You might even convince people to play games like that.
And I completely agree that games are being pumped out. But I do disagree that Japan are the only ones. I feel they're in the past as much as other companies are. There are companies on this side of the world that are doing innovative and creative things. Look at Bioware, Bethesda, and basically any indie companies.
My advice is A: Try a genre or series you've never played before. You might find out that you like simulation games (if you don't already).
B: Find a different hobby, like said before. Join a club at school. You'll become more interested in other things. You can still play games, of course.
C: Just take a break from gaming. Summer is coming up, take a vacation from it.

Man I need to explain more, what I meant to say is that Japan seems to be ONE OF the only places that has companys.that actually innovate, bioware and bethesda are some of them
Well I'm going to be working a relatives land, so long break, plus I'm going to be working towards some game design software (thanks to camelslayer for telling me) so that could be a summer project

I do work. It's a bit opposite for me. I wish I could just sit down and veg out. I really could get into more games if this was possible.

There was a long period of time when I was bored of gaming. It was around the time I started getting into anime (though that was rather short lived) and hanging around on the internet a lot. Though over the past couple of years I have rekindled my love of gaming.
It's kind of ironic but I think Autarch and The Chaos Theatre played a large part in this.

Well, I have been doing some reading just to fill the boredom, novels, trilogys, even an online manga(I know I shocked myself with that one), and well that's when I decided that I should be writing, that's why I'm going to make my own game I've got great ideas and well its something new. But yeah the only games that are holding my interest are the Jak and daxter HD, and dark souls, but I might get max payne 3, for the sake of it's good writing
