Two certain threads from the TVTropes Music forum in one, basically. Title speaks for itself. I'll try and think of things as we move along.

I like Breaking Benjamin a lot, but the songs from their first album were painful to listen to.

First thing that comes to mind:
I love Radiohead but who the hell came up with this song, it's fucken Oasis-tier
On the other side of the spectrum we have:
Even though they got a lot of acclaim, I generally do not care for this band, don't know why but it's just kinda boring to me, they generally miss the bitterness and bite to make them a good jangle pop band à la The Smiths and they also lack the shoegazing part that makes somewhat similar bands like Ride and Catherine Wheel good. However, this track is actually really really good, if mostly because of the instrumental jam that's going on in the second half of the track.

I like "Just Keep Breathing" by We the Kings, even though I find them okay at best as a group.

Necro because I think it's time I actually list some examples of my own. Songs I dislike from bands I like at least a little: Metallica - Enter Sandman (by virtue of me having heard too many times The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again (^) Foo Fighters - Learn to Fly (^) Rush - Tom Sawyer ( noticing a pattern here?) Megadeth - Anarchy in the U.K. Aerosmith - Come Together A Day to Remember - Since U Been Gone *shudder* Slipknot - People=Shit (you can tell this one's from their early years ) As for albums, I personally found Avenged Sevenfold's "City of Evil" and Queens of the Stone Age's "Lullabies to Paralyze" really underwhelming. On the other side of the spectrum, OneRepublic's "All the Right Moves" is *quite* the guilty pleasure of mine.
