Picked up a few more things...
-Chrono Trigger(DS) -Super Street Fighter II(Genesis) -Game and watch gallery(GB) -Hi hi puffy amiyumi: Kaznapped(GBA)
So these are a few things I found a local thrift store. While I do have the PS1 version of chrono trigger, the DS version didn't really go for much so I picked it up. I'm trying to get into the street fighter franchise, so I picked up Super Street Fighter II as well. The game and watch gallery is something that I never played before and as for the last one... Well I picked it up because I liked the cartoon when I was younger and the game only went for like 5 bucks.

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger.
So far, it's my favorite 2D fighter ever (unless you count SSB Melee). The characters and stories are great, the overall plot makes a surprising amount of sense (though I suppose a lot of it doesn't make sense if you don't know ahead of time what kind of things it foreshadows), dialogue and voice acting are solid in a genre that normally sucks at those, and of course the gameplay is great. I suck at traditional 2D fighters, but here there's enough easy stuff for beginners to get through the story on, and the controls (mostly) work well for me. I like the branched individual stories with changing outcomes depending on what you do, and I appreciate the ability to create multiple saves for when you want to go back to a fork in the road in an individual story.
One question though, is there a way for me to reassign which moves are special moves (can be executed by moving the right stick) on each character? There's one d-pad/left stick input that I can never get right and I'd like to assign moves requiring those inputs to my special moves...

I feel like they're might be button macros that you can assign but that might just be Street Fighter. Just practice, you'll get better at them over time. Learn keypad notation, it might help.

I got Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney. Man I'm happy to finally be playing this game.
I'm up to Chapter 2 so far (and man does the game take a dark turn at that point) and so far I'm impressed with it. It feels more like a Layton game than an Ace Attorney game but I'm sure that'll change once the trials get into full swing.
I've got to say too, it's a surprisingly pretty game. I thought it would look kind of primitive after playing Duel Destinies (and in the case of the models it kind of does) but the backdrops look very nice and use the 3D better than DD ever did. It says something about a game when the title screen impresses you. Also as to be expected of Level 5 the cutscenes are top notch.
Also I've not been able to find out who Phoenix's voice actor is, though the jury's still out on whether I prefer him to Sam Riegel or not.
Edit: Thought I'd note that hearing Layton say "Hold it!" is pretty badass.
