Improved my FireRed time quite a bit [about 50 minutes!]. Fastest time is now 3:20:06. Holy Crap!!! This is ridiculous! Now I have a reason to try again! The world record time is 2:01:22.

Get a 50 dollar dazzle capture card you can use it for a Let's Play when you are done, or for other speedruns for other consoles. Good Luck!

Good Luck! Where did you find one? I got mine off of Ebay (which probably wasn't a good idea looking back, but hey, it works), but the next best thing would be to look through used game stores. Also, I recommend getting the GBA to Gamecube cord thingy, because it let's you use a Gameboy Advance/SP as a controller. It really helps you do quick movements with the D pad that are incredibly hard to do with a Gamecube analog stick, this coming from a Metroid speedrunner. though if you're not doing a game with a heavy focus on movement that wouldn't really matter

So a D-pad would work best for the speedrun.

I'm on 14 minutes for Super Mario World right now. Bringing it down little by little.
