Good Day, Sir! This is ChrisX the Oddball Gamer, bringing his Oddball opinions to DEMACIAAA!!! ... Uh, I mean, the masses. Okay, am I on drugs today or what? (Be sure to switch that to HD)
During my high school days, I was introduced with Warcraft III, and as an RTS, I like it. Then during my college days, everyone was really high on this one custom game of WC3: Defense of the Ancients: All Stars. Taking control of one single hero, you must fight your way with your team to destroy the enemy base, empowering yourself as you go. For a game mod, it proves to be incredibly popular, spinning off its own genre that we all call it either DOTA genre or the MOBA genre. After college, I dropped off from the whole DOTA stuffs, but recently, thanks to certain video reviewers and TV Tropes, I came to know the other MOBA juggernaut that rose in my absence, League of Legends. Realizing that there was a local server in my country, I returned playing it, as well as returning to DOTA, now evolved to DOTA 2, and once again learning my ways of the MOBA genre. I certainly am not pro, but I enjoy playing the game. Just as long as my teammates are amiable. So as of today, I'm gonna make a list about the characters inside, each games offer a hundred and more characters to play as with unique play styles and their own personalities. To these days, all I see are just detailed lists on the League of Legends characters, which I can admittedly see, because their characters gear more on the human characters, and possessing their own personalities and background, while in the old DOTA... they're just bare bones and due to using voice clips from Warcraft III, we don't see much of their personalities. That is, until they're given their own stories, some new, some improved, in DOTA 2, and their own voice banks to characterize them uniquely. While they do not see much of lores like League of Legends, it makes the DOTA heroes stand out more now. So do I make a LOL list... or a DOTA list? Well how about BOTH OF THEM?I like DOTA and felt like most people underrepresent the characters there, choosing to flaunt the League Champions more. However, I ALSO like the League Champions greatly that I suppose fair's fair, I'm gonna include both the Defenders of the Ancients, as well as the Champions of Runeterra in this list. Like usual, this is a very personal list about favorites, so don't take offense if your favorites is not in the list... or get pissed off and call me a scrubby noob because my list doesn't include Heroes/Champions commonly used in pro-tournaments, or the list consisting characters that are more used by noobs. While their playability holds value, I want to appreciate their characters. And it's not that I'm very pro myself, I make mistakes, I'm also pretty new and learning in these stuffs. So, just... get that shitty tier list off my list, these are all my opinions. And no, despite both camps are rather rivalling to each other, let me say that I like fairness and have no overpreference on the others. So I appreciate LOL's casual approach as well as DOTA's complexity, both have their charms. Thus, I decided that I'll just make a list for both LOL and DOTA. I will be listing them based on their appearance, playstyle, occasionally usefulness, how fun they are to use, their personalities, lores and some of their etceteras (like some Dance or Jokes in the League). Also for fun, inspired by Green Scorpion and his Pirates vs Ninja faceoff video, at the end of each numbers, I will pit the featured LOL Champion and DOTA Hero in a combat and see who would emerge victorious. The rules are simple: Champions and Heroes are not allowed to use any items, no Summoner Spell, have to fight to death alone with no creeps, no retreats, whoever gets the first blood wins. To make it fair for the League Champions that have Attack Damage and Ability Power scaling skills, however, we do give them a bonus of AD or AP depending of their skillset so they can take advantage of their skills that way. Well enough about that... Welcome to the Summoner's Rift, this is... ChrisX's MOBA Showdown
Top 10 League of Legends Champions

*sigh* So! Let's get this show on the road then
Beginning with this list we have the kunoichi with dual kamas and epic sideboobs, Akali. She is a member Kinkou Order along with the other ninjas, Shen and Kennen, and amongst the trio, Akali best represents the 'Do things at all cost', making her the go-girl to do the less-moral job like utterly assassinating her foes without mercy. This is well represented with her designation, she's an Assassin through and through, while the others go around Fighter-Tank or Mage-Marksman. Ever since Akali is a child and could form a fist, she has been trained rigorously by her mother to "Do what is necessary" and succeeded in her style, the Fist of the Shadow. As a member of Kinkou Order, Akali serves to protect the balance of Valoran alongside her friends, and as mentioned, she's the more extreme one. As heard in her quotes, she's always serious and mission-based, but when one of her jokes is about noting that even matchmaking needs balancing from noobs, maybe she's NOT that overly serious, which gives her quite a charm on it. How extreme? Well it's because her style are definitely best suited for an assassination that sticks, and using an Energy pool instead of mana, it makes her assassination skill always steady at hand. Akali has an innate skill, Twin Disciples, that imbues her strength based on her Ability Power and in turn, grants her a Spell Vamp effect in her normal attacks. Her Mark of the Assassin had her throw her kama to the enemy and giving them a mark, that if she attacks them with normal attack or her third skill, a spin attack called Crescent Slash, the marked enemy will take extra burst damage and Akali will gain energy. In a pinch, she could use the Twilight Shroud, which had her throw a smoke bomb that renders an area her domain, she gains extra defense and magic resistance and rendered invisible in that area. Of course, the downside is that she's vulnerable to area attacks there because it's like waving the flag of "AKALI IS OVER HERE", but if the enemy lacks it, it'll increase her laning strength as well as confusing the enemy so she can strike more leisurely or making an escape method. Her Ultimate, the Shadow Dance, is what makes Akali stick out as an assassin. She delivers a flying kick and gets herself close with her enemy, dealing damage. The uniqueness is that she doesn't use energy for it, but instead over time she gains stacks of it up to 3, when she has more than one stack, she could use them in consecutive times without cooldown thus ensuring that she will stick to the enemy until they're struck down and dead. And if the enemy struck with it dead, Akali gains an instant stack to use it on another. This makes her a very dangerous assassin to face in late game, but if she's not fed well, she might become a liability to the team, so if you face her, do your best not to let her stack up strength. An ability power-storing Akali is a nightmare to face, even on teams, but it's still possible if you do have teamwork on your side. Akali is greatly used at ganking, but since she's rather squishy, she may want to watch her health as well. Gank carefully and Akali is a deadly assassin and a force to be reckoned with for the Summoners. That being said, I find it ironic that she strives about balance and 'symmetry above all else'... but I think I found some spots about her that's not symmetric. Look at her head again, really. Hair clip not located on top, there's a bang on her hair around her left face.... how is THAT symmetric? Look, Akali, there's this guy called Death the Kid from the manga Soul Eater and he's equally obsessed with symmetry like you (and maybe even bigger) and when he found out--*gulp* Okay, that was... improper. Right! Let's just move on.
And on the first amongst the DOTA heroes, we have a very beginner-friendly hero that will teach you well on harassing and carries. Meet the Drow Ranger, Traxex. When the name 'Drow' is mentioned, what came to your mind would probably be the dark elves in the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms setting. Indeed, during the first game, Traxex was no more than a D&D Drow that is like Drizzt Do Urden, sickened with her kins' evil ways. But when her story is reworked in DOTA 2, Traxex actually becomes more than just a carryover from another setting, she was once a normal, humanoid girl (we're not sure human or elf) who lost her traveling parents in front of her when bandits raided her caravan. She was found by the Drow, which was not dark evil elves, but here a race of short, ugly and troll-ish race, and decided to take her under their wings out of pity. Traxex grew gifted with the Drows' abilities, stealth, subtlety and silence, and the arts of bowmanship. But as Traxex grew in age, she also grew taller than her Drow kinsmen and considered herself ugly and even she became estranged with the race that took her in. With that, she retreated to the woods and lived alone, helping lost travelers that came to her domain, while minimizing her presence. That being said, she has a rather deep voice that makes her sound sensual, normal humans will definitely find her attractive and sexy. But, again, racial adoption issues and 'ugly' issues raises. Regardless, she takes very high pride on her bowmanships and rivals with fellow archers like Lyralei, Mirana or Clinkz... or even Kardel, who's a sniper with a gun. It does emphasis on her silence and subtlety, compared to her old model which was based on the Warcraft 3's Dark Ranger which is all about death and destruction and vengeance, although it adheres to the more evil Drow in D&D, this new set of voices gave Traxex a new, original edge that fits with what she is, a ranger of the woods, albeit silent, cold and gloomy. If you're using Ashe from League of Legends, you're NEARLY at home with Traxex. Her first skill, Frost Arrows, is basically Ashe's Frost Shot, Traxex shoots an arrow of ice that slows the enemy down. However, due to the mechanic difference, Traxex can use her Frost Arrows by either auto-activating it or using it manually to avoid being aggro'd by creeps while harassing the farming enemy. And from that point on, Traxex starts to differ from Ashe. Her second skill, Gust, had her shoot out a gale that pushes the enemy backwards and inflicts Silence. Any invisible enemy caught in it will get revealed temporarily too. She also possesses the Trueshot Aura, which increases the ranged damage of people next to her, but not to herself. Why? Because her Ultimate, Marksmanship, turns Traxex into a shooting death machine. It grants her massive Agility bonus, which affects her attack speed and damage, combine this with her Frost Arrows, you can think to start running when she starts kiting you to death, and unless you have methods to shut her down or fight back, you're dead. Of course, Traxex loses those bonuses if the enemy gets close, so she would do well to keep her distance. It only works on enemy heroes, though, so with that Ultimate on, Traxex will be able to farm in a greater pace and effectiveness... which she REALLY needs because she's a carry hero, dependent on items. Traxex usually doesn't see pro gameplay as she has quite a bit of weakness, in terms of gap-closer enemies that disables her ultimate, and her innate squishiness. However, a fed Traxex is always a force to be reckoned with, because a fed Traxex will find a way to get around her squishiness and ultimate-disabling with her item build to ensure she live longer and hit as hard. A skilled Traxex player can be a nightmare to skill-dependent heroes as she can sneak her way (either with skilled warding or a Shadow Blade) while silencing them then pelting them while they're helpless against her. Overall, Traxex may be a little bit of too newbie-friendly, but she held her own, I still like her and her new story of isolation and a new way to portray the Drow race in general (she may look like a traditional Drow, but the race that raised her is another story). I do recommend this hero if you're still learning the ropes about DOTA along with carries.
And now it's time for the Showdown!
The Fist of Shadow VS The Drow Ranger
Who wins?? Since both are not allowed to use items, Akali would close in with Shadow Dance and renders Traxex's Marksmanship useless, from there she'll start sticking close and whacking Traxex with her skills and with the Mark of Assassin, Traxex is prone to many damages that her squishy defenses might not help. She can only make one comeback with how she tossed Gust to Akali once, but Akali has caught up too many momentum and she'll still get close and render her Marksmanship skill useless again (and once no longer Silenced, she'll Shadow Dance back next to Traxex). That being said, Akali wins this one squarely.
(No offense about Traxex, but this has nothing to do with how much she attracts noobs) Winner: AkaliLOL: 1 DOTA: 0
Stay tuned for the next on the list!

Yes, I'm doing it rather quicker than before, maybe I would take a short break. But regardless, here's the next on the list.
And on #9 of the Champions of Runeterra, we have our 'Mute Hatsune Miku with Big Boobs', Sona. Or if her adopted parent name is to be taken to consideration, Sona Buvelle. All right you know what's coming because of this one. *hits the Mute Button* I'm not in the mood for another Arnie SHUT UP gag. In those regards, Sona did well enough that she's #9 amongst the hundred and more champions available in the League. And it wasn't because she's a boobie girl. Now where was I? There was no known history of Sona's parents, she's found at the doorsteps in a house at Ionia and be sent in an orphanage until someone adopted her. Along with her came an unusual music instrument called the 'Etwahl', based on the Chinese instrument 'guzheng', and while she is completely mute, she could use her instrument to play beautiful music or use it as a mean of telepathy. This etwahl is her means of everything and it also shares some link to her. Many times, her orphanage caretaker tried to sell it, but mysterious circumstances always present themselves to make the etwahl come back to Sona. You don't wanna know the 'circumstances'. She's eventually adopted by the Demacian noblewoman Lestarra Buvelle and moved to Demacia, learning how to play music and playing them to win the hearts of many Valoran citizens and discovering that she could use the instruments to not just soothe hearts, but destroy what she feels unworthy. That was why she's amongst the Champions of Runeterra. Oh, and apparently there's this story about Lestarra trying to steal her Etwahl... and then the Etwahl automatically killed her, giving a lot of sorrow to Sona. Sad, indeed... but it was apparently retconned and I wouldn't speak of it much until further notice. Also apparently, Sona made up her own band called 'Pentakill' consisting herself, Mordekaiser, Olaf, Yorick and Karthus. How she even befriended a frickin' Lich who speaks about death and all is... yet another mystery for our Sona. But for all her mysteries, Sona usually kept herself well-behaved and kind girl, just like she was when she's little, and if she had to taunt or joke... she'd just play a melody or something. Weird, sudden melodies, but you know. Her music was also that extraordinary that even the Noxus leader, Jericho Swain, admits that he's in love with her music. Sona... is just THAT good in music. Sona's play style is unique amongst supports as she implements a 'stance' system in her skills. Play one skill and she is surrounded with an aura that differs in each skill she played, and if a new music is played, the old aura still stays, but it fizzled out. With her innate passive, Power Chord, every three songs she plays, the last song will grant her additional effects while dealing bigger damage to the enemy. One of the reasons Riot Games say she's 'easy to play' was because she doesn't aim, her skills prioritize nearby heroes. It gives her easier time to hit her skills, but if you wanted to target specific heroes, you might not be able to do so, especially in regards of her Q skill, Hymn of Valor. Its aura increases attack power, while sending out two bolts of sound dealing damage to the nearest enemy, prioritizing on heroes. Still it's a very damaging skill and if the Power Chord is in effect, she'll deal bigger damage with the Hymn. Her W skill, the Aria of Perseverance heals allies, gives defensive aura or with Power Chord, reduces the enemy attacks, while her E Skill, Song of Celerity, grants speed boost, more speed bonus, and with Power Chord on, slows the enemy. The Power Chord was there to give Sona even more options, so even if she doesn't require aiming, she still requires skill to match which song to play in which situation, which makes up the lack of getting her wanted items because you have to give strength to your carry. But hey, she's a Support, that's what Supports do. She does get another offensive skill, her Ultimate, Crescendo. It deals magical damage to a line of enemies, and stunning them for 1.5 seconds... this is by forcing them to dance, which fits her musical theme, yet incredibly helpful when facing a swarm of enemies with friends as it'll give them time to pound on the enemy, and instilling more crowd control effects on them while they're busy dancing. Those seconds really count. As the Maven of Strings, Sona held a lot of mystery in her, but in the same time, she's incredibly helpful and will lend a hand to those who needs help and doing that with nothing but a smile since she can't talk, while hiding possible pain about them, an enduring lady that plays beautiful melody to soothe the heart of people, encourage people, or tear asunder her enemies. She's thus far one of my favorite supports and deserves her place in #9 amongst the Champions of Runeterra
Coming up in the 9th place amongst the Defenders of the Ancients is another popular hero, here's to Yurnero, AKA the Juggernaut. You may think he's not as bulky as that other Juggernaut, so you don't think how he will plow through the enemy. Maybe so, but Yurnero is a big threat that you don't want to meet alone in an alley. At first, taking on the Red Orc Blademaster model from Warcraft III, he's just another orcish blademaster, also possessing some of their loud, boisterous nature. But when he is transferred to DOTA 2, his origin changed further into something... unique. No one knows what face does Yurnero have, nor if he has one, all we have is just his mask. He hails from the Isle of the Masks, but we assume that they're a bunch of evil bastards. That being said, unlike the others, Yurnero has a heart and this caused him to defy a corrupt lord in his Isle, which he got punished by being exiled. Shortly after, the isle completely sank, thus Yurnero's exile became a blessing. But still, being a lone survivor still held its weight on Yurnero's face, so he spent his time further mastering his sword, join fighting for the Radiant... and being a deadpan talker. Yes, with the changes from the old DOTA, Yurnero's personality greatly improves that he is as badass as he's amusing. This results him getting his own announcer pack where he delivers some amusing lines. Just check it out here. None of these things would happen if Yurnero stayed as your typical orcish Blademaster, so thank you Valve (praised be Gaben) (praised be The Great and Benevolent Gaben) (praised be The Great and Benevolent The Great and Benevolent Gaben)! Also, as a swordmaster, Juggernaut is not just proficient with blades, he's very proud of everything on the swordcraft. Most of his quotes would revolve about the arts of swordsmanship and how he takes pride in it... And he's just as badass with it. His Q Skill, Blade Fury, had him spin around in with his blade and damaging everyone that comes near her as he becomes a windmill of death. Now, League players, you're probably thinking that Yurnero copies Garen's Judgment, eh? In fact, Yurnero comes first, but even then, he had to take cue from the Orc Blademaster, but it still stands that Yurnero uses the 'Spin 2 Win' thing before Garen made it a meme. Not to mention, when Yurnero uses Blade Fury, he's invulnerable to any forms of magic, so he can't be stopped on his tracks. Unfortunately this ability did not scale too well, late game, but in early game, when used sparingly and correctly, Yurnero's a juggernaut in battle that is a candidate of doing a quick First Blood. His W skill, Healing Ward, is another solid skill used by Yurnero, as it lets him create a ward that recovers damage as he goes, sustaining him and when leveled enough, allow him to take on Towers alone, even as he's being rained down with Tower shots. His E skill is a passive called Blade Dance, basically giving you Critical strike chances up to 35%, thus rendering items like Crystalis or Daedalus not necessary. What makes him really dangerous is his Ultimate, the Omnislash. Like its namesake from Final Fantasy VII, Yurnero would flash to the opponent and strikes many times for huge damage, and if there's no creeps or any other units nearby, that enemy is guaranteed to be a mincemeat... unless they can go invisible, but if Yurnero happens to be able to see you with a Gem of True Sight... God have mercy on you. Yes, basically this skill is what would be the basis of some League skills, like Master Yi's Alpha Strike or Fiora's Blade Waltz, but I think Yurnero wins this one as he will deal a lot of damage, slashes more, and since his attack speed also plays factor and he's an Agility hero, he'll be able to strike a lot for massive damage. All in all, Yurnero is a great hero to use, amusing in a badass way, and very nice to use when you're looking for some kills, and deadly when played correctly, as he's also one of the carry heroes, along with capable of pushing through towers and sustaining himself with his ward. But, usually his effectiveness wanes in late-game, although in mid-game, he'll really shine if he's well fed. Therefore, if you want to strike with Juggernaut, make the mid-game counts. I may not be using Yurnero much in the old DOTA, but he's made a great impression on me through DOTA 2 and enough to put him as my #9 favorite Hero of DOTA. ... Kill me.
And now it's time for the Showdown!
The Maven of Strings VS The Juggernaut
Who wins?? Welp, sorry, Akali, but this time, the balance went off again. This battle is so lopsided it's not even funny. Sona is a support character whose main strength is granting support to her allies so they perform well. As a solo? Faced against a solo Juggernaut like Yurnero with no creeps around? Sona can just pick her poison: Either Yurnero Omnislash'd her and killing her in a few seconds, or Yurnero threw off her Hymn of Valor or Crescendo as he uses the Blade Fury and slicing her to pieces. Sorry about that, Sona, but you just had the bad luck facing against Yurnero, who wins this battle in a landslide. Winner: YurneroLOL: 1 DOTA: 1 Stay tuned for the next match up!

Hm, here again. I was actually surprised because I thought LOL is more popular here. Maybe it's because I included DOTA? Oh heck, what am I saying, I'm an Oddball guy! Hell, this next entries would probably be pretty Oddball anyway!
Yeah, maybe you'd be surprised because if you speak of League of Legends, you probably wouldn't even think of THIS GUY. But here he is, Kassadin making it to this very list. He was once a normal human but later managed to take a peek onto the realm called 'The Void'. The realm was the home of many dangerous creatures bent on destroying humans, seeing this realm and the horrors within would drive you mad. But Kassadin managed to survive by taking up the power of the Void, which endangers himself every seconds, and store it within him. At this point, you would think that he'll be driven into entropy and wants everything destroyed, and hell, he's looking like a cross between Darth Vader and Cthulhu right about now! But... nope! Instead, he vowed that he will use his power to prevent the horrors from within the Void to destroy the world, in this case, Valoran. In a nutshell, that's the kinda guy Kassadin is and making him unique, Void-based characters are usually presented as malevolent and evil, but Kassadin is the epitome of the fact that with willpower, you can have a shot in resisting the evil powers you have and turn it into a power of good. Thus in a nutshell, we have a cross between Darth Vader and Cthulhu, whacking evildoers instead of being an evil overlord. For a good guy lover like me? It's flippin' awesome! Probably the problem people see with Kassadin is in fact his skill set, and while broken, I think the newer patch has nerfed him quite a bit that makes him a bit more viable. His Passive, Void Stone, lets him walk over people so his escape is unblocked, and he also blocks magical damage. His Q skill, the Null Sphere, is his bread and butter and poke, it deals decent damage and further enhanced with his Ability Power. Pre-nerf, it would silence the enemy, making Kassadin a poking terror in battle, but post-nerf, the silence effect was removed, but instead Kassadin would gain a small shield for a small moment to make him sustain a little longer. His W Skill, the Nether Blade, either enhances Kassadin's attack based on the Ability Power he has or sets it up that his next attack has more damage and restores his mana which helps his mana sustain better, especially since he's very skill-heavy. His E skill, the Force Pulse, lets him unleash a force of power in a cone, damaging for great damage and slowing the victims for three frickin' seconds. If you think that's broken, there's a catch: To even use the Force Pulse, Kassadin needs to be around to see six skills used in front of him, acting as stacks to activate the skills. But if you've been building him with mana and ability power, you'll be glad that Kassadin's Ultimate is what makes him deadly: the Riftwalk. It basically acts like a free Flash spell, teleporting Kassadin to a place, and damaging anyone that's near his exit door, something like there's a door in front of you appearing out of nowhere, and then the door forcefully open, bashing you right in the face and Kassadin just exits out of the door. It can be used repeatedly for about 4 times as the cooldown is very short, but in each time, the mana cost rises significantly unless not used for quite some time, but if you're building Kassadin's mana, that won't pose him any problems. Not only that, the ultimate can be used as a means of escaping since you don't have to wait for 200 seconds or so to use your flash, making Kassadin an elusive champion that's hard to catch. Overall, despite the nerf or that he's less powerful than he used to be, Kassadin is still a character of interest to me, especially when you consider his background, all the things leading that he'd be an evil monster, but he's instead solidly a force of good protecting Valoran. And lastly? For as much as a great badass he is, his joke is actually pretty funny, mentioning about him silencing his mom and regretting it. Boy, who could've thought that even a Darth Vader-Cthulhu hybrid still has those on his own mom?? Regardless, I'm solid that Kassadin will still hold his place here in the #8 League Champion spot.
And on the 8th spot of the DOTA Heroes, we have another hero that's often derided to be 'Good for pubs, bad for pros'. But I don't care, really. Strygwyr is defined with these things: Blood, blood and more blood. In the old lore, he was said to be a hybrid between a Demon and Orc, and that's it. When DOTA 2 came around, Strygwyr instead is reworked as a sanctioned hunter of a deity called the 'Flayed Twins' from the mistified mountains of Xhacatocatl. His Deities requires a large pool of blood to be sacrificed in their name, thus it makes sense that Strygwyr would hunt down blood. Typical to the old Gods, these Deities would not be pleased and would drown his home if they're not appeased, so it drove Strygwyr to be a sadistic bloodhunter, all in the name of his homeland and his deities. He's that good of his job that while you don't see him due to the mask, some of the Flayed Ones features has been appearing on his head. Just like a true blood hunter, Strygwyr possesses several skills that emphasis on the blood and health of the enemy. He can drive the enemy into frenzy with his Bloodrage, forcing them to take damage over time, and preventing them to cast spells, doubling the work of poison and silence, which makes him deadly against mages. He can also cast it to himself if he wants some extra damage output which isn't something to scoff at. It works well because two of his other skills did not need incantations that even with him being Bloodraged, they're still active. Such as his W Skill Blood Bath, where it encourages you to last hit often as every enemy Strygwyr kills would heal him and giving him sustain. And most importantly, his E Skill, Thirst. Whenever there's an enemy in low health within the vicinity of Strygwyr, which can cover nearly the whole map, Strygwyr will gain a massive speed boost that can reach ridiculous levels and will be able to see where the enemy is, and even Strygwyr's friends get to share the sight. For League players, maybe you'd be thinking that this is probably a Warwick on steroids, but not only Strygwyr differed himself with the aforementioned Bloodrage, his Ultimate is what sets him apart and making him a feared foe... the Rupture. Strygwyr will use his magic to ensure his target start bleeding wildly and would take damage as they walk around, the more they walk, the more they will hurt and die. Smart players could shut it down by carrying a Town Portal Scroll, or just staying in place, which may decrease Strygwyr's worth as a ganker. However, when used in a proper time, like if there's a friend to ensure that they can't just escape with portals like that, Strygwyr would greatly present a sadistic choice: Do you run and bleed to death, while Strygwyr would probably activate Thirst and chase you, along with other enemies that will be chasing alongside him, or do you stand your ground... and get beaten to death by nearby enemies that is not just Strygwyr? Either way, unless you get help, you're gonna die. He's probably derided as a 'only works for pub', but a skilled player will find a way to make Strygwyr more effective and his skill set makes him a great sustaining and jungling hero, and above all, a fun sadistic hero to use if you know what you're doing. He can also be versatile as a mage killer as on maximum level of Bloodrage, the cooldown of the spell becomes shorter than the duration of the spell so he can silence mages forever. A decent ganker that also asks you to use your brain before you use his skills to come out on the top, sustaining himself greatly and a ferocious blood-based creature, that is how Strygwyr came to be in the #8 amongst the DOTA heroes... even if you REALLY don't want to meet him alone in an alley.
And now it's time for the Showdown!
The Voidwalker VS The Bloodseeker
Who wins?? Even if Kassadin is a Darth Vader-Cthulhu hybrid, unfortunately, his status as a mage makes him a mincemeat in the face of Strygwyr. As mentioned, in his maximum level, Bloodrage can last longer than its cooldown, and so, Strygwyr can shut down most of Kassadin's arsenals nearly all the time. His magic sealed 24/7, Kassadin will be forced to get close and use his boosted Bloodrage attack, but his base attack isn't that superb to turn it against Strygwyr. And even if Kassadin's normal attack was high, Strygwyr can just stay away from him and let the damage over time from Bloodrage drain away Kassadin's health since his only way to attack is close range, and if Kassadin's chasing him, he'll just Rupture Kassadin and let him bleed to death. Unfortunate for a super badass like Kassadin, but in this battle, he'll be a bloody mess in the face of the Bloodseeker. So! If Bloodrage is being too unfair for the mage Kassadin, what if Strygwyr is forbidden to use that one skill to silence Kassadin? In those regards... True enough, Kassadin will have access of his multitude skills, slowing Strygwyr down with Force Pulse, poke-protect himself with Null Sphere and chasing Strygwyr down with Riftwalk. However, in terms of stats... Kassadin is rather fragile and not an overly powerful physical attacker, while Strygwyr is no slouch in attack power, not to mention he'd instead use Bloodrage on himself granting him immense attack power, enough to whittle down Kassadin's HP to below 50%, in which his Thirst activates, and Strygwyr will be able to outrun even Riftwalk, and apply Rupture on Kassadin, forcing him to stick to his place and eat up even more of Strygwyr's Bloodraged attack, or chase him down and die bleeding. So yeah, regardless of the situation, the Bloodseeker still beats up the Darth Vader-Cthulhu. Winner: StrygwyrLOL: 1 DOTA: 2 Stay tuned for the next match up!

Yay, a comment that has nothing to do with the context of the countdown! Can't complain... (I'm grateful though!) I was actually surprised because I thought LOL is more popular here. Maybe it's because I included DOTA? Oh heck, what am I saying, I'm an Oddball guy! Hell, this next entries would probably be pretty Oddball anyway!
And moving up in the 7th place amongst the League Champions, we have a 'fan favorite' or sorts. The long gun of the law, that sexy sheriff Caitlyn. Before her rise as a sheriff, Piltover was a den of crimes, but that changed when a certain 14 years old daughter of a wealthy salesman and pioneering hextech researcher, Caitlyn, discovered her talents in investigation and sharpshooting with her father's rifle, backed up with her mother's gadgets that she mastered quickly. Yes, concepts say that she's like a 'female sniper Batman', and compared to another sniper character I like that's often compared with Batman *coughGarrusVakariancough*, Caitlyn seems to have a better background comparison, which is great for her. The only difference is that she works as an official sheriff, not a vigilante that catches people that escapes her law. Indeed, once she rose as a sheriff, not only she grew into a ravishing beauty, practically NOTHING escapes her fuzzy cuffs and her rifle's crossfire. Such is the story how Caitlyn turned Piltover from 'Gotham City Mk. II' into a safe haven. If that is not awesome, I don't know what is. Right now, at the moment, Caitlyn is enrolled by Demacia in order to find a mystery outlaw whose only clue is the calling card "C" and he always escapes even Caitlyn's grasp. This mysterious man is Caitlyn's true rival, however, at the moment, she's also helping fellow cop Vi to track down her archnemesis Jinx. As a sniper, it is fitting that Caitlyn plays keep away a lot. A lot has compared her with the DOTA Sniper Kardel, but aside of a few differences, Caitlyn brings her own skills in battle. Her innate skill, Headshot, allows Caitlyn to accurately do a headshot which grants her extra damage after she attacks about 7-8 times, but like a sniper, she can headshot with less attacks... if she's hiding in a bush. This tactical feature makes her headshots more surefire than Kardel's, although if anything, it lacks its momentary stun, so Caitlyn cannot really lock down a unit with it. But not to worry, as her other skills are more direct and ensures that she doesn't just shoot with normal attacks. Her Q Skill, the Piltover Peacemaker, is a line-in-sight skill that lets her fire a piercing bullet that hits hardest to whoever gets hit first. This allows her a good damage, but it has a drawback of 1 second casting time, giving another player time to dodge and make Caitlyn waste mana. Still a very powerful poke even if it won't always deal 100% damage. She's also armed with the Yordle Snap Trap, her W skill, which allows her to plant a trap that immobilizes any enemy unlucky enough to step on it, and if it doesn't, it'll still disrupt their movement as they have to move another way if it's right in front of them. Most ADC usually lack escape skills and it becomes harder for them to dodge something in a hard position. For Caitlyn? That's why she has her E Skill, the 90 Caliber Net. She will shoot a web to slow the enemy down, which pushes her backwards for a good range, this can be used as both escape method, or she can just shoot the other way to close the gap. And lastly her Ultimate, also inspired from Kardel's as well, the Ace in the Hole. Caitlyn will prepare her rifle to take aim at the enemy and fires off a powerful bullet for massive damage. This would look straightforward, but there's a catch: The bullet can be taken by another enemy champion, so I quote Green Scorpion: It gives the enemy a chance of fair play, protect the target or just leave them to die by Caitlyn's bullet? And covering them will not always save the target, as the target may still be a victim of backdoor or gank with Caitlyn's ally, or the protector may as well become Caitlyn's victim. Shows how much one element makes such a big difference when compared to her predecessor's straightforward style. Caitlyn is heavily damage-based in her style as an ADC, but even if her style looks straightforward, it surprisingly has quite a depth that makes her quite fun to play, even if she certainly has some flaws in her skills. On top of being a beauty and a dedicated lady of the law to uphold what is good, this is a damn good sniper lady whose life certainly would make Batman proud in terms of 'being based on him'. And so, that is how Caitlyn manages to attain the spot of #7 favorite League Champions in the game.
Defense of the Ancients (2) Hero #7Mogul Khan, the Axe Moving on to the 7th spot of the DOTA heroes, we have what many would call the precursor of League's Darius, none other than Mogul Khan, the Axe, who calls himself not with his name, but just his title, Axe. So I follow! Back in the old DOTA, he's just another Orc that fell into Mannoroth's corruption, and um, that's it. Once again, thanks to the magic of heavy retcon, Axe is redesigned as a member of the Oglodi race, a slightly orc-ish race, in which the game also offers other Oglodians like the Warlock and the Disruptor. Axe is not just an Oglodian, though, he's also a member of the elite Red Mist army, and he's best known as a certain one man army amongst the ranks, brutally decapitating his enemies, even unworthy superiors. As the Red Mist dwindled, some dying in battle as comrades, some decapitated by Axe himself, Axe eventually declares himself leader of the Red Mist, against the opinions of many of his soldiers, but it matters not for Axe, as Axe is a one man army, and anyone saying otherwise will meet decapitation by the Oglodian himself. What makes him do stand out is that despite his bloody story and brutal personality, whenever you click him around, Axe is... actually kinda amusing in a bloody way. He constantly refers himself in third person, isn't very bright (though bless him, he tried), and makes up Axe puns in every moments he would say something like 'ex'. Like Yurnero, Axe would receive his own announcer pack where he utilizes his amusement points at his best, making him also an amusing badass. So like I said, Axe was said to be something of a 'predecessor' to Darius. We'll see about that later, but let's first take a look at his skillset. His Q Skill is Berserker's Call which works similarly as League's skill that inflicts Taunt, Axe screams and forces everyone near him to attack him, while he gains armor bonus. In conjunction with armor-enhancing items and something that returns damage like the Blade Mail, Axe can not only interrupt some channeling spells, but force his enemy to focus on him while his teammates wail on the enemies for a few seconds. Axe is also a deadly force in the early laning phase, with his W skill Battle Hunger. This skill drains the enemy health unless they kill someone, even a creep, so the enemy better be good at last hitting or they continually take damage, or it'll kill a retreating enemy who's trying to go back to base without a Town Portal Scroll. In conjunction of this, he also has his E skill Counter Helix. Similar to Darius' Decimate, Axe spins around dealing damage to the enemy, but this makes him a danger because this is not activated manually, but activated by chance if Axe is attacked by anyone. With this, he could spin around a lot and dish out a lot of damage instead of just once. In early phase, this gives Axe incentive to act suicidal and draw creep aggro on the enemy, and then spin around to kill creeps or any heroes that tried attacking him. And in the latter phase, using this in conjunction with the Berserker's Call will force the enemy to attack him and wait until he spins them to death. Spin 2 Win indeed. And lastly speaking, his Ultimate, the Culling Blade. This works VERY similarly to Darius' infamous dunk Noxian Guillotine but since Axe has no Hemorrhage system, he instead has a 'Kill Threshold' system, if the enemy is below certain points of HP when hit with the Culling Blade, the enemy's dead, period. Any allies nearby witnessing the spectacle will receive speed bonus buff along with Axe, and likewise, the skill can be used AGAIN if the kill registered. Axe is one manly hero that dives to battle and wreaks havoc, killing any weaklings in sight with style and forcing everyone to keep fighting like a man or suffer the consequences. A true Axeman to the end, befitting his one man army status as well as his amusing third person talk, this is why Axe makes it to the #7 amongst the DOTA heroes. Boy that was a tiring writing. Maybe I should- *SPLAT!*(One respawn later) *whisper* Oh you're so gonna pay for that, Axe...
And now it's time for the Showdown!
The Sheriff of Piltover VS The Axe
Who wins?? This is gonna be a very tough battle. Axe is very deadly when he's close at hand, but as Caitlyn is a smart lady who fights long range, she will want to keep her range at all cost. Even if she couldn't momentarily stop Axe with headshot stuns like Kardel, Caitlyn still has other options to keep her distance like the 90 Caliber Net. She can also force Axe to take a detour in his path to get to her by planting the Yordle Snap Trap in her way, and then proceeds to kite on Axe until he is defeated. True enough, Caitlyn would have to hopelessly eat up Axe's Battle Hunger. However, her damage output would surpass the damage she took from the Battle Hunger. Caitlyn would be smart enough not to use the Ace in The Hole as it will be her downfall because of her long casting time which will let Axe close in and then disrupt her with Berserker's Call and unleashing his Counter Helix until he could finish her with the Culling Blade. In the end, Caitlyn would emerge victorious with all her wits against the Axe. (Told ya yer gonna pay, Axe!) Winner: CaitlynLOL: 2 DOTA: 2 Stay tuned for the next match up!

Onward and upward!
League of Legends Champion #6"DEMACIA!!"Welp, you know it's coming when I speak of HIM. Garen Crownguard, the Might of Demacia So on the 6th spot of the Champions of the Runeterra, we have one of the 'poster boys' of League of Legends, Garen Crownguard. Well, yeah, most people would think that when it comes to the Crownguards, they'd pick his little sister Lux. I don't mind Lux, but I just like Garen better, being a good appreciator of manly men, which Garen supplies well. And before you ask, NO, I appreciate manliness for the badassery they bring, not for some bara stuffs. Garen's story is actually pretty basic, he's the exemplary of all Demacian citizens, he fights with honor, he protects his allies, he is courageous and wouldn't retreat at all. With a big honking sword he wields with ease, he is a fine warrior. Nothing to write home about, but I think Garen wins out for the sheer relationship he has with others. He's loyal to a fault to Prince Jarvan IV, risking his life to save him, including beheading Noxian general Urgot to the point he's being targetted by Urgot. And as aforementioned... there's his sister Lux. In terms of other enemies, while Garen has no idea about Urgot, he mainly rivals himself with first his Noxus counterpart, Darius, and his 'sworn enemy' Katarina du Cocteau, the latter whom he met in battlefield and actually forced Garen into a stalemate. We dunno if it's love at first slash, or because he sees Katarina as a worthy opponent, after that time, Garen always came back to challenge Katarina in every possible moments, this even extends to flirtatious interactions on his jokes on her. On Darius, it's different, however. They're rivals, yes, but Garen takes the rivalry like trying to show that he's ahead of Darius, his jokes and taunts on him are mostly showing things like "Up yours!". That's quite a differing take about Garen and rivalries. As far as gameplay goes, let it be known that Garen is a tank and fighter, fulfilling both roles greatly, and his skills reflect that, they don't even cost mana at all, like a great fighter he is. His passive, Perseverance, allows him to slowly regenerate health if he's not fighting big guns like other champions, so he could retreat and farm on normal minions until he's ready for another big battle. His other skills are skills that are meant to shrug off debuffs. Just take a look on his Q Skill, Decisive Strike. With this, Garen threw off all slow effects and runs with increased speed before striking his first target and inflicting silence. It does greatly well on mages, and it can also be used to... Of course, sometimes, this being League of Legends and MOBA in general, running away isn't ALWAYS a bad thing... Anyway, his other anti-debuff skill would be the W skill Courage, which initially raises his defense and magic resistance, and activating it would grant him even MORE defense and lowers the duration of crowd control debuffs like slow, stun, etc. Now he has most of these tank stuffs, what else did he miss? Oh! Right, the very well known Judgment skill, basically an import of Yurnero's Blade Fury, but reaching memetic status thanks to the help of Garen. It's basically your typical spin attacks, although Garen is still suspectible of being tossed with magic in it, but when you have those tanky attributes, who needs to fear such thing? In fact, this is why I prefer Garen's Judgment for spin attacks, because his stats augment with how he has to follow around his enemy, and with good defense, he's less likely to die by normal attacks (good DOTA players with good stats will whack Yurnero dead with normal attacks if they can withstand Blade Fury). And lastly, we have his ultimate, Demacian Justice, where Garen plants his sword to the ground and creates a massive burst of energy that damages the enemy, with more damage based on the enemy's life lost, so if Garen manages to take your HP to low level, you're asking to be executed. Surviving and feeling like you need to come back? Garen can just chase you with his Decisive Strike and kill you that way. And that's what we have for the man who invented the term 'Spin 2 Win'. He may be a bit too basic, but he gets the job done, he's always a solid tank that's good to use when you're learning what it means to be a tanky champion. And lastly, why do I like him so much? His new dance. Barring Johnny Bravo's womanizing attitude, that dance just fits so much considering Garen is that macho, and in the same time, gives a good contrast and laugh of a serious dude, paragon of Demacia doing The Monkey. So yeah, nothing else needs to be said, such is how I get Garen to be the #6 of the Champions of Runeterra.
Defense of the Ancients (2) Hero #6Lesale Deathbringer, the Venomancer Now we reach the 6th place of the DOTA Heroes and here we have an old favorite of mine, Lesale Deathbringer the Venomancer. Back in the old DOTA, what attracts me to him is that he used the rare Hydralisk model, a rare easter egg unit in WC3, so it certainly brings him further to my interest. Once again, his story was a bit cookie cutter: Mad Scientist experimenting himself with venoms, turn into a venomous creature, that's it. But the retcon gave him quite a tragic spin on his story. Lesale used to be a herbalist trying to discover new herbs and cures and his search led to the Acid Jungles of Jidi, well known for housing various venomous creatures. Unfortunately he's bitten by one creature, and in a desperate gambit to save his life, he mixes up many of the poisons in order to gain an antidote and consume it. What happened was that he fell into a comma for years and when he woke up, he's this horrifying creature that spews venoms everywhere, he's the Venomancer now, his old mindset was deleted and what remained was the mind of a creature keen to spread his venoms everywhere. From that point on, he would conquer the Acid Jungles of Jidi and becoming its greatest poisoner. Therefore... that quote above? He's lying. Lesale, true to his venomous nature, has his skills revolve around spreading venom to his enemies, giving him versatile roles, he can assassinate, gank or even support other heroes. His Q skill, the Venomous Gale, let him spew out a ball of venom gale, slowing enemies with 50% reduction and giving damage over time that can be fatal. Of course, if you just give him one point, it's not doing damage over time, but the slow effects will be great for heroes trying to chase, escape from your friends or towers, and so on. Next up, comes with his passive W Skill, Poison Sting, enhancing Lesale's normal attacks that it inflicts venom and making them take damage over time and slowing them down. These stings will be carried over to his E skill, the Plague Ward, where Lesale creates a ward that can spit venom. And true to its nature, it's also a free ward that can be used to grant visions in other places, or help push down towers as Lesale can create many. However, his ultimate is what makes the Venomancer is feared, the Poison Nova, basically letting out a circular gas of poison that will cause very huge damage over a long period of time on anyone caught within it. There's a catch, however: this poison won't kill the enemy, but you can be sure that the enemy will get killed off with his other poisons, or the beatings of Lesale's friends, either they have to go back, recuperate and lose precious time... or die poisoned. Sure enough, there's another venom-based Hero in DOTA (and I mean Viper) and that hero may be a better assassin, but I like Venomancer more for his design, versatility and his new story. As one of the heroes that is potent in extreme venom danger, Lesale is one pOIsonous snake-like creature (SHADDAP, CEDRIC!) that I recognize as one of my favorite poison-based characters in video games and the #6 of the DOTA Heroes.
And now it's time for the Showdown!
The Might of Demacia VS The Venomancer
Who wins?? Unfortunately for Lesale, shrugging off slow effects is what Garen does best, and not to mention, he has a high bank of HP which will make killing him with poison harder, especially when he could shrug them off. Armed with Judgment that can cut Lesale down and any Plague Wards he plants, and not to mention Lesale isn't exactly the toughest SOB in the realm, Garen would just need shorter time until Lesale reaches the HP threshold where he could decimate him with Demacian Justice. In a long run, Garen wins this one easily. Winner: GarenLOL: 3 DOTA: 2 Welp, we're already halfway here. There may not be any in-line comments, but I resolve to finish this no matter what! Stay tuned for the top half soon!

Not that I'm familiar with either game, but are you considering all of the characters' abilities when you put them into showdowns? I know you're already halfway through and probably have a winner in mind, but for these showdown things, I get a bit irritated when someone glosses over a critical skill that could change the outcome.
Oh, and I liked the references in the #6 segment. And I forgot to mention this earlier, but the fact that you put quotes before and after the entries is a nice touch... although none of the LoL (nice acronym...) links work for me.

Yes, I've tried putting up all the skills so far, but sometimes for the sake of not babbling too much, I had to cut down some stuffs. For instance: In Garen vs Lesale, I don't have to mention any further that Garen's high HP, Defense, Resistance, Slow-removal (with Decisive Strike and Courage) would immensely help shrugging off Lesale's poison-based skills (which I mean EVERYTHING, from Venomous Gale, Poison Sting, Plague Ward, Poison Nova, all of them dealing with those things). Or how Traxex's Trueshot Aura will do nothing on her as she has no nearby ranged allies, so it amounts to nothing when facing against Akali. I think you may be annoyed at how much I glossed away some of Kassadin and Sona's capabilities, but that was because their opponents (Strygwyr and Yurnero) have the capabilities to shut down or shrug off their abilities (Bloodrage being a very long, possibly forever silence, and Blade Fury granting magic immunity). Any... problems or unfairness you see there? Interestingly, I may as well try imagining what if Strygwyr is forbidden to use that Bloodrage. Let me see.

And here we are in the next entry of this list.
And we begin with a champion similar to Garen, that is, being used as one of the more basic champions and your tutorial model... Ashe. I think you remember her from mentions when I was describing Traxex. Personally, however, I like Ashe better for several things. One of them being their stories. Ever since she's a child, Ashe always marvelled on the tales of Queen Avarosa and wanted to be like her, uniting the frozen tundra of Freljord, her home. This 'dreamy' phase ended quite abruptly when her mother was slain on a raid, and she's thrusted to the position of new leader at the age of 15. Thankfully, Ashe knew better not to sink into deep revenge and tried to focus on the restoration of her tribe, which... doesn't sit well on some of them, sending assassins to kill her. In her retreat, Ashe came upon a bow blessed by none other than Avarosa herself. Taking up the bow to fend off the assassins with extreme grace, finally putting an end to the rebellion and shows the tribe that she's worthy to lead her tribe, now called the Avarosans. Now Ashe can focus in building up her tribe to unite the Freljord. Easier said than done, though, seeing that the Winter's Claw under Sejuani wanted to also unite Freljord with brute force, making Ashe and Avarosa pretty much the more benevolent version of the Demacia (with Winter's Claw standing in for Noxus), and there's also the nefarious Lissandra who is plotting behind the scenes to destroy the two and take claim of Freljord for herself. Oh and apparently the old lore had her marry on the Barbarian King Tryndamere for political reasons, all arranged by Ashe herself so she's the one running the pants in the family. Although right now removed from the lores, the new loremaker has always wanted to remake the relations between Ashe and Tryndamere, so I still see them as a couple in any way. In those regards, Ashe's tale is very inspirational and shows that she's a lady not to be trifled with, with her own rivals to face. While Ashe is not exactly my most favored ADC, she certainly can be good when used properly, to the point that if she survives the early phase where she's not that good, she can blossom into a deadly and graceful warrior. Her skillset is simple, first her passive Focus allows her to register a guaranteed critical attack, provided that Ashe does not attack for several seconds, this is quite useful as a surprise burst on enemies that feels like Ashe is not being active. But of course, it doesn't mean Ashe should neglect her farming or casual harassing, though. As mentioned before, her Q Skill, the Frost Shot is basically Traxex's Frost Arrows, although Ashe doesn't have the luxury of shooting one arrow manually, she has to activate the skill so every of her auto-attacks will slow the target for 2 seconds. In higher levels, this makes Ashe an ideal kiter, as she can kite the enemy while slowing them, ensuring they never reach her. If auto-attack isn't quite the cup of tea for the moment, Ashe can instead use her W Skill, the Volley, where she shoots 7 arrows in a cone, hitting at most 7 enemies. This is an area attack that Ashe can use to clear a path, and the skill would also apply the current level of Frost Shot, meaning that there will be at most 7 slowed enemies. Ashe's E Skill, the Hawkshot, is an odd one. Actively, Ashe would send out an animated hawk to scout and reveal an area, the higher the level, the farther she can send her hawk. But most people see it more on the passive effect: It gave Ashe extra money when she kills an enemy, letting her farm faster and get the items necessary as an ADC. The sight is often said to be vital in one of Ashe's games, it's said that Ashe can cripple an enemy even without entering the battlefield? How? With her Ultimate, Enchanted Crystal Arrow. She shot a MASSIVE arrow made of ice that travels to the end of the stage, until it hits a target, the target would be stunned, and anyone near them will be slowed, and the longer the distance, the duration would be even longer. All right, DOTA players, you may be thinking that this is just Mirana's normal Sacred Arrow skill. Ashe wins out IMO not because it's an ultimate, but also for the fact that no minions would hinder the Enchanted Crystal Arrow (while Mirana's could be blocked by creeps), thus, it is more deadly and easier to aim even if it still have a high miss chance. Ashe is as deadly as she is graceful and kind and protective to the tribe she's leading. With also her leadership and possible rapport with Tryndamere, she is a true queen to lead the tribe in the snowy tundra of Freljord, to bring peace to that land. She may start out weak in battle, but handle her with care and she would blossom into an arrow-shooting death machine that will support others well in the same time. But that's not really all of the reasons why she's actually #5 in my list of Runeterran Champions. What else you ask? Her jokes shows quite a side you wouldn't see much from her graceful, cool side... She tried to play cool and ended up having her hand hit her eye while she's taking aim, all while pouting adorably. Man, Ashe, you're such an adorable dork! That's why I like her too.
Defense of the Ancients (2) Hero #5Azwraith, the Phantom Lancer #5 of the DOTA heroes are another kind of 'Nice in pub, hard in pro' hero, similar to Strygwyr. Me? I say, who gives a damn. Azwraith is a feline-like old lancer whose features may remind you of someone from Final Fantasy X-- Are you blind!? Not this guy! I'm talking about Kimahri! In those regards, it's always been like that since the Old DOTA, Azwraith's model, despite using a modified Blademaster model (in particular Grom Hellscream), is designed to look like Kimahri. However, his skill is so vastly different that he's something else. And in the old DOTA, he literally has NO story, his 'background story' just gave him a rundown on his skill, everything else is shrouded with mystery. With the retcon provided by DOTA 2, while he does receive a story, the elements of mystery still exist to make him intriguing. Azwraith used to be just a simple fisherman from the village of Pole, free from war, but war caught up anyway. Taking up his lance, he conscripted himself as a lancer and fought for his people, leading to a charge against the mage Vorn. But at that point, many of his friends have died, but even alone, Azwraith charged anyway and dueled the mage to near death. Azwraith came out victorious, but before dying, Vorn granted his curse, his blessing, that he would be a multiplying man, creating phantoms of himself. When reinforcements came, all they see is his illusions, vanishing before them. From there, speculations abound, is he truly dead and he is now a collection or main body of his ghosts? Or did he just use one of his abilities to switch with his illusions, rendering himself invisible and fled the scene to protect his people? Mysteries abound for this... entity. Azwraith's play style revolves around making illusions of himself, albeit weak illusions, to overwhelm the enemy in numbers, so he may want to avoid cleave damages or AOE skills. His Q Skill is the Spirit Lance where he throws a lance, dealing damage and slightly slowing the enemy, while immediately creating an illusion of himself. This skill serves as Azwraith's mini nuke, it won't deal much damage, but it could be used for some slow so your friends can catch up, and starts one of Azwraith's specialty with his illusion. While his W Skill, the Doppelwalk allows Azwraith to replace himself with an illusion while the real self goes invisible and able to run, this is an important skill to save his butt at times, and will have the enemy having a hard time locating where did the real thing go. And his E skill, the Juxtapose allows his normal attacks to have a chance creating an illusion of himself, this is the main thing to be utilized in building up an army of Azwraiths. His Ultimate is passive, called the Phantom Edge. All it does is... quicken the formation of his illusion army, by increasing the chance to juxtapose, and allowing the illusions make their own illusions. This is going to speed up in making up illusions to swarm the enemy, but these illusions does have a weakness that they're not as strong/durable as the original Azwraith. Making up for that, however, is the fact that some items give their effects to the Illusions. In this case, Azwraith's favorite item would be the Diffusal Blade, as it also lets his illusions burn mana per attack. If you can imagine how it's like for a mana-dependent Hero to get surrounded by Azwraith and see the illusions destroy their mana, that's one of his strength in a nutshell. So it's not as the guy he's modeled as about using spells of the enemy, but a more original, elusive skill set He may be just a novelty hero and might not see a lot of pro plays due to several glaring counters, but he's still very fun to play as, swarming his enemies with illusions, pushing the enemy's Tower more leisurely and having an escape button that can confuse the enemy, as well as baiting people to waste some of their skills with his illusions. Add up with some items that also works with illusions, Azwraith is an army-making dude that's at least more user-friendly than the other multiplying hero, and that's how he makes it to the #5 of my list of DOTA heroes.
And now it's time for the Showdown!
The Frost Archer VS The Phantom Lancer
Who wins?? There is one glaring weakness within Azwraith's illusions, that is, they're weaker than him and takes more damage than him. He also lacks a strong burst (Spirit Lance can slow targets, but it doesn't have major damage), so he cannot take advantage of Ashe's squishiness. Should he be able to make a lot of illusions with the combo of Juxtapose and Phantom Edge, several Volleys from Ashe would wipe them out in a short time (and seeing that at maxed level, Volley has a very short cooldown of 4 seconds). Although Azwraith can find safe haven if he hides in the shadow with Doppelwalk, Ashe's Frost Shot would also give snowy trails on targets hit and seeing that Volley also stacks with Frost Shot, if Azwraith got hit with it, it'll give Ashe idea on where he is, and while she could not target him, she can still shoot an Enchanted Crystal Arrow for massive damage, provided that his illusions do not get in the way (and even that could be used to destroy a swarm of illusions in a quick time). And once Ashe takes out his illusions, like it or not, Azwraith needed to materialize to deal damage on her, in which the time will be used by Ashe to pelt him down, granting her victory. Winner: AsheLOL: 4 DOTA: 2 Wow, the League Champions has such a lead, can the DOTA Heroes catch up?? See you on the next number!

And here we are in the next entry of this list.
Moving on to the 4th spot of the Champions of Runeterra, we have one of the few 'dress-sensibly' ladies, Leona. She's the paragon of the people of Solari, the worshippers of the sun, and is dedicated to protect those in need. This ties in quite nicely with her backstory. She's born in Rakkor at Mount Targon. As the people of Rakkor, everyone is expected to be brutal warriors, and Leona was no exception. She's got talent, but she's considered a problem child because of her philosophy: The values of a soldier is not for killing, but to protect others! When you think about it, it matches well with how well you win an LOL... hell, any MOBA games! You win by helping others achieve your objective, not by racking up personal kills. Do the latter and you'll more likely to be landed with defeat. So even at the beginning, Leona already had her heart in place. But traditionalist people like the Rakkors do not get that. So when Leona refused to fight in an important ceremony of 'battle of death', she's instead scheduled for execution. But before she could be execution, the Solari intervened, saving Leona's life with a blinding light and declares that she's the chosen one. Now serving as a paragon of light and the sun, she dedicates her life to protect others. But in fact, while Leona is dedicated, this would bring her strife, she would be separated with her traditional home, including her childhood friend Pantheon, and for worse... the Solari are kind of assholes, persecuting and pushing another friend of hers, Diana, into madness that she became one who hunts down every Solari for destroying her life. For as much as she's trying her best to protect others, Leona sure is handed with a lot of shits from being separated from friends and even knowing that she's being chosen by some rigid assholes running the system! Leona is both tanky and supportive champion, befitting her role and mindset as one who protects others, she has a lot of utility skills that help out her friends and protect them. To begin with, her passive skill, Sunlight, imbues the ones hit with her skills with a debuff that lets others hitting that enemy deal extra damage, while she could not activate it. So it was like Leona sets it up that her enemies will take more damage from her friends, or her minions. Her Q Skill, the Shield of Daybreak allows her next normal attack to deal slightly more damage, and stuns the enemy. This would usually be used in tandem with something I'll get back to later. Moving on, Leona's W Skill, Eclipse, makes her a formidable, hard-to-kill tank, as it enshrouds her with light that grants her armor and magic resistance, until a few seconds and it explodes, dealing damage. If she hits any enemy with the explosion, the light rose up again for more protection (but no more exploding). Now I'm gonna go back to what I said on her Shield of Daybreak stuff. It'll be hard to get her in there because she needs to get close, right? Good thing there's her E skill, the Zenith Blade, where she shoots out a line of a magic sword beam, dealing damage to everyone caught in line, and Leona would teleport to the last enemy hit. This is a good gap-closer for Leona to both activate Shield of Daybreak or get near the enemy to eat up Eclipse's explosion. But seeing that it doesn't automatically target the enemy (has to be aimed), it may give her trouble. And that's where her Ultimate, Solar Flare, comes in, where Leona calls in the Sun's power to deliver a satellite explosive beam of death, dealing massive damage in an area, and the one caught in the center gets stunned, those far from center gets slowed, setting up for further beating from her allies and herself. Leona is a pack of many things I really appreciate. She's full of grace, kind hearted, a protector at heart and surely, also doesn't share the rigid personality of the Solari that drove Diana into madness, as her eventual rivalry with Diana would break her heart as Leona really cared for Diana. Add up with a very tanky role for a female, combined with a nice amount of support that promotes both protection and aggressive style, Leona definitely ranks high up there on #4 of the Champions of Runeterra. Well it's not like you're showing a lot of skins to drool a--Wait, that came out wrong... I'll just wrap this up before it gets awkward: I don't mind her covering much of her skins, it looks great on her. Next!
Defense of the Ancients (2) Hero #4Lina, the Slayer What I actually have for the 4th of the DOTA Heroes, would be Lina, the Slayer. Yes, I will admit that back in the old DOTA, she really IS that Lina Inverse, only using the sensual Sorceress model, and her story basically amounts to 'Same old Lina trying to get money, but over time becomes dedicated to defending the Ancient.' But once DOTA 2 comes in, boy, Lina goes really good from personality and interactivity. The Sorceress' sensual feel gets carried over to Lina that she practically becomes one of the top fanservice providers of DOTA 2. I mean, look at her, she's hot in both her flame power and her look. Quite the visual upgrade from the usually cute but flat-chested Lina Inverse... *is burnt* *blink blink* : Get on with it!Okay, fine, geez! Anyway, the biggest change on Lina is that instead of being the anime Slayer, she's in fact sisters with fellow Radiant Heroine, Rylai the Crystal Maiden. Ever since they're children, they argue and become rivals. A LOT. To the point of being 'stuff of legends'. However, Lina had it easier because she's both smart and full of guile, winning the favor of her parents. Unfortunately, as she masters over fire and her sister over ice, the parents had trouble settling because their elements just wreak havoc in every temperament environment they're in. The solution? Separate them. Lina got sent to a sandy Desert of Misrule, living with her patient aunt, mastering her fire magic and proudly driving away any would-be suitors that wooed her. Lina is a classy and proud lady and as hot as her fire could scorch, armed also with guile and cunning mind. Of course, being one of the Heroes of DOTA, she'd bump into her sister again, and this is where it gets interesting: Lina and Rylai are capable of getting along as allies, but should they get to opposing sides, they would bicker like hell, having special quips on attacking each other, killing each other, getting killed each other, etc. Looks like old flames die hard, but it does give her more original characteristics to this fiery lady. And true to that, she's an excellent mage Hero who truly excels in one thing: EXTREME BURST DAMAGE. Lina's skills would encourage her to throw around many spells to the enemy to whittle down their health in short time, and most of them... are named after the spells from her namesake. First off, there's her Q Skill, Dragon Slave. While considered the most powerful of Inverse's arsenals, this is in fact Lina's bread-and-butter, it sends out a wave of a dragon's fire breath, damaging everything in sight, and the damage isn't one to slouch about too. She also has her W Skill, Light Strike Array where she summons a pillar of fire that scorches an area, stunning everyone caught in it. Although hard to aim, the stun can be worth it, and it also deals decent damage. Her E Skill, Fiery Soul, is more passive, but once again, encouraging her to cast a lot, because if she casts a spell, she would gain bonus attack and movement speed, and casting more spells would stack the effect. And lastly, her Ultimate, the Laguna Blade, in which instead of shooting fire, Lina instead shoots lightning for massive damage on one unit, making it good to assassinate a unit, or take down a huge chunk of their HP so they would be easier to kill by others. Overall, the deviation of Lina from her namesake has proven to be very effective and charming that I'm not playing her because I'm an anime fan, but because I do like this hot babe Lina as a character, and the burst damage master here is quite a terror to play when done properly... of course, as a squishy Intelligence hero, Lina is frail and you should not expose her to much danger and do your best so the enemy will not be able to properly buy their needed equipment to resist Lina's spells. All said, this is one proud babe that deserves her place at #4 of the DOTA Heroes list and I do enjoy playing with her. ... I'd rather not get burnt much, thank you.
And now it's time for the Showdown!
The Radiant Dawn VS The Slayer
Who wins?? Gotta say that this is going to be a VERY close battle. It's known that Lina is fragile, so if Leona gets close to Lina, she could maul her heavily. And Leona does have a method to get close, throw a Zenith Blade while activating Eclipse, whack Lina with the Shield of Daybreak, let the Eclipse explode, and if that's not enough, blast her with Solar Flare. The victory goes to Leona, yes? Unfortunately, no. While Lina would lose a good chunk of her HP, it would leave her enough that she could retaliate with first Light Strike Array, which would activate her Fiery Soul, followed by her getting some distance from Leona and bombarding her with Dragon Slave, and then Laguna Blade, further augmenting Fiery Soul. While being bombarded, and Leona could take it with her big HP and defense/resistance, her normal attacks aren't exactly that phenomenal that it wouldn't finish Lina quickly. With this, Lina could get a distance, and dodge any further Zenith Blade easier than before, all while pelting Leona with her long range attacks augmented with Fiery Soul and throw a damaging spell or two, until Leona is scorched and defeated. It'll be a very tough battle, but with her guile and cunning, Lina will proudly claim victory over Leona. Winner: LinaLOL: 4 DOTA: 3 The DOTA is catching up! But can they keep the momentum?? I've got to admit, this number is one post where I had quite a fun throwing references here and there. Welp, see you on the next number! We're now reaching the top 3!

Here it comes, the Top 3.
We finally reached the third champion of League of Legends, and standing there is what I would say my favorite tank character. Meet our resident badass ninja, Shen, hailing from Ionia. Like Akali, he's also a member of the Kinkou Order that protects balance in the world, and by far, Shen is pretty much the leader, being the balanced center, he's less of an extremist than Akali, and he's also less merciful than Kennen. He gets the final say on how to deal with the disturbance of balance. Ever since his childhood, he's been trained in the ways of the Eye of Twilight, shutting down his emotions for the greater balance. In fact, his final trial is to witness his father tortured right in front of him and not allowed to blink or averting his eyes. He aced that trial, and so the Kinkou Order listens to him. Although, he's not just a force of nature either. Misery does follow afterwards, when said father eventually got killed by his rival Zed and the latter used his shadow ninjas to drove not just Shen, but also Akali and Kennen, from the Orders. Even without his home, and the humiliation he got from Zed... Shen never blinked. He's a serious, dedicated ninja who will fulfill his duties as the keeper of balance. Even if he's a ninja, Shen differs from your typical ninja because he's not your typical speedster with fragile movement but deadly strikes. He's instead described as a tank, and benefits from lots of HP and Armor. This is shown with his Passive ability, Ki Strike, where after a certain amount of seconds, Shen gains a boost on his attack depending on his maximum HP. Using some of his skills would quicken the cooldown of the Passive. And like Akali, he uses the Energy Meter instead of Mana, so he has a quickly-recovering resource to use his skills. His Q Skill, the Vorpal Blade, is his poke where he throws his sword and marks the enemy, whereas anyone hitting that enemy would be getting lifesteal bonuses, which would be beneficial for sustainment. His W Skill, Feint, gives him a temporary barrier that protects him from attacks, which when levelled highly, it would protect him from A LOT of damages, even turrets. What makes him the great tank would be his next skills, the E Skill Shadow Dash, had him do a dash in a line, attacking champions that got caught in it and also taunting them and forcing them to attack him. Combine with his high defense and Vorpal Blade, the other champions would be forced to fight him when other champions could be a better target. Not only that, it works good as an escape method. Lastly, his Ultimate, Stand United, is a unique one where Shen takes his time to teleport to an ally of his choosing, while generating a massive barrier to the target. This ultimate may look that weird, but it can be a real life-saver and even can turn the tide of battle when used properly. Shen may be a ninja, but he takes the differing route of being more passive than aggressive, befitting his role as a balance keeper. And guess what? It works so well, and doesn't retract his badassery one bit. This makes me favor him more amongst all the tanks in League of Legends, one fine ninja in my mind, and of course, my #3 Champion of Runeterra.
Defense of the Ancients (2) Hero #3Balanar, the Night Stalker The third on the list is what I will say my favorite Hero amongst the Dires of DOTA. And it's none other than the Boogie Man of that realm, Balanar. He was just a Dreadlord who just does his job like that in the old DOTA, but with the retcon, he becomes something of a mythical creature that has no history, but only tales of his terror. Before the dawn of the First Day, most creatures of darkness perished, except Balanar alone. This enables him to wave a story of one who does exactly what is, he stalks the night, strikes the terror to every unwary people and consume them, portraying himself as the embodiment of the Evils of night. His tale is often used to scare children not to wander at night alone, because Balanar will come and get you. And when he does... he'll show that he's no mere fairy tale. He will brutalize you, eat you, until nothing remains of you and you'll regret why you ever came out at night alone. While his story is still lackluster despite the retcon, it does its job well, because you take the role of Balanar, you're the Boogie Man that terrorizes the night and you're making that point damn clear, especially with those skill set. Balanar would look very weak at daylight, but at night, he's an extremely fearful force that is capable of ganking extremely well. First let's take a look at his Q Skill, Void where Balanar creates a void that slows the enemy and damages them, interrupting their channeling skill. In nights, they're slowed for even longer duration, which prevents their escape harder. Then there's his W Skill, the Crippling Fear, which silences the opponent and makes them miss normal attacks a lot. At day, the duration and miss chance is pretty low, but they get higher and longer during nights. And to make matters worse, his E Skill, Hunter of the Night, increases his movement speed, attack speed a lot during nights, making him a total terror that chases down his victim and moves fast enough to get to the next one. So you may be thinking you'll always be safe at days, right? Well, that changes with his Ultimate, Darkness, where Balanar creates a global darkness making an artificial night for a period of time, even in the middle of daylight, thus gaining his bonuses as stated. This is where he becomes a true terror. His story may be simple, but his gameplay and skills truly encourage you to be the Boogie Man that punishes those foolish enough to wander alone without protection. This is all a great experience that Balanar provides, and while he certainly lacks area attacks for team fights, he does his ganking job excellently, especially at night, that he's my most favored Dire Hero and the #3 amongst the DOTA Heroes.
And now it's time for the Showdown!
The Eye of the Twilight VS The Night Stalker
Who wins?? This is another lopsided battle, unfortunately... for Shen. Balanar would immediately activate his Ultimate, Darkness, immediately making it night time and utterly wreck Shen with everything he got: Attack speed, movement speed from Hunter of the Night, extended slow from Void and being prevented from using his skills and accurately hitting with Creeping Fear. But seeing that Crippling Fear has a rather short range to activate, Shen may be able to get some cheap shot as he uses Shadow Dash and temporarily averting Balanar's fury. But after that, he's out of options and can only wait until Balanar wails him down dead, Shen can't use his Ultimate for this and everything else gets shut down, and his tankiness can only help so much. Very unfortunate for the ninja, but Balanar is the true ultimate terror of the night. Winner: BalanarLOL: 4 DOTA: 4 The DOTA has finally brought the stance to a stalemate once again! See you on the next number!

Welp, this is is such a beeee-yutiful day to start up on the next number! I tell ya, there'll be hot ladies here. Here we go *Record Scratch*W... wait, what? WHAT?? ZIGGS!? What do I find 'sexy' about this thing!? I hate Ziggs! I hate his annoying grin! I hate his annoying voice! I hate how his AI is extremely annoying with his harass whenever I mid-lane with him! Why is he not the most hated character in the League but poor Teemo gets the butt end of the joke! Oh, well I think I'll keep this at bay. Let's try going over to the DOTA one first.
Defense of the Ancients (2) Hero #2Meepo, the Geomancer *Record Scratch*Huh!? This guy!? While I can't really say I hate him a lot unlike Ziggs, it's just so goddamn wrong when I say he's my #2. Oh... right... now I get this... I know who's behind this script switching... .... Fine, I'll bite. TERUMIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!*runs up to the door and came upon to...* : Yo. Sup? Deadpool!? Uh, look. I'm in the mood to punish Terumi again, this is one gag I will never get tired of. So will you please excuse me and... : Nah, that guy ain't here. I just wanna tell you one thing. What? : You suck. This list is seriously half-assed. Man, I bet you never score a Penta-Kill or keeping a HOLY SHIT or LEGENDARY state for long! What makes you think you got what it takes to make? Oh by the way, your waifu is a genocidal bitch and you still love her! Man, that's a laugh! W-waifu...!? Why I never...! And yeah, I admit I'm not that good of League or DOTA plays, but by God, I'm trying to be better! : Yeah? Well consider that a warning. Because... *picks up the scripts and showed the backward showing Deadpool sign* I'm the guy who does the switch! What!? Deadpool... and I thought you're one of my favorite... No, why are you betraying me like... Huh? *looks at a tiny portion below Deadpool's insignia* ... April's... Fools? God damn it, Deadpool! You got me there! : FOOOLED YOOOOUUUU!!! Man, that expression was just classic! Gotta be honest though, I kinda stole the script from Terumi and replaced it with my stuffs! He's trying to pull this prank to you and because it's April's Fools, he's gonna be immune from criticisms! But really, that ain't gonna cut it for me. You sure know how I felt. Thanks... but wait, where the hell is he? : Oooh, hanging around with some neighborhood... *Deadpool points at the window to see Terumi tied up, silenced, having one arm cut off and the rest being cut to pieces by Pudge, while Gentleman Cho'gath is eating his cut arm on the table on a table* : Chris, you piece of shit! To think that you make 'ChrisX Zone' take priority over April's Fools! Not that it matters, because I'm gonna make you despair regardless, since the BlazBlue fandom has been--*gets sliced off on the leg* YAAAAUUUGGGGHHH!!!: "Ha ha ha ha! Fresh meat!": "Nom nom nom nom nom...."Just won't get old. Right, so... Deadpool, where's my original sc... huh? He's... gone... *looks at the sofa...* Good God! It was here all the time!? Welp, time to polish it further. I'll see you guys next time.
Expecting a good entry? Sorry about that, I'll be up with the proper #2. Though I'm gonna be honest... I. Don't. Like. Ziggs. Meepo I could handle a bit better, but I'm just annoyed at Ziggs. I'll see you next time. Oh, and... Happy April's Fools Day!

We're back after that silly April Fools post, so we're now back in track to this list. I certainly hope you enjoy because we basically has reached 'Favorite Female' level of both games. Here goes!
Yep, my favorite lady champions amongst all of League of Legends is my most favored ADC character, and that's none other than Miss Fort --*Insert wolf howl here* AAAWWW!!! Hubba hubba, what a ba- *bang, shot from behind* *One respawn later at home* I... just did? Okay, right, this is the time for explanation, not some silly drooling, I can do that later! *slaps head* OK! So, Miss Fortune it is! Miss Fortune is a respected figure in Bilgewater, a city very much infested with pirates, with the symbol being that she owns her own ship (which she attains at the age of 16). Despite dressing up like pirates, she managed to rack up money by being a specialized Bounty Hunter, a Pirate Hunter, toting with her two guns Shock and Awe that shoots out cannon shells, and an extremely gorgeous body and charms to seduce her would be victims before apprehending them like a true femme fatale (Miss Fortune? More like Miss 'Fanservice', I say). Well, except this one guy called Gangplank, and they argue a lot not only on seas, but also in regards on who should rule over Bilgewater, while they both want it to unite and be a strong country, Gangplank wants its normally chaotic environment, Miss Fortune wants it to be a little more orderly. Despite her name, Miss Fortune isn't always lucky, in fact, her misfortune was what spurred her success. When she was a child, she witnessed her mother getting murdered and all of it was because of a 'red-eyed pirate'. This made her distrust pirates and hone her skills to find this red-eyed pirate and take revenge, taking down any pirates she came across, eventually working her way up to be one of the most respected Bilgewater individuals. And as far as gameplay goes, being an ADC, Miss Fortune will need a special care on utilizing her skills. Her Passive, Strut, may be a little too minor, as it only raises Miss Fortune's walking speed slowly as long as she's not hit at all. However, in some situations, it can save your life if the enemy is not too aggressive (like in early lanes) or you're in need of quick roaming. Her skills brings some unique elements to the table, especially her Q skill Double Shot, where Miss Fortune shoots a shell that hits one enemy for bigger-than-normal damage, and then the shell goes to the enemy behind it for even bigger damage, giving her a great bullying presence in early lanes. It takes time to practice the positioning so you can know that it will bounce to the enemy champions, but if mastered, it is a great tool, although the presence slowly wanes late game, it can still be used as a quick burst damage and resets the normal attack animation, so Miss Fortune can just attack-Double Up-attack for better damage. Likewise, her W Skill, Impure Shots, augments it further. Passively, Miss Fortune would just augment her shots with small magical damage that stacks, this is gonna get buffed in the future patch, though. But actively, this is what makes Miss Fortune quite the beast, it increases her attack speed and reduces healing effects. This'll allow her to push towers effectively, or quickly decimate some poor champion that got locked down by the crowd controllers. While Caitlyn may have inherited some of Kardel's skills and traits, Miss Fortune instead gains his Shrapnel skill, in form of her E skill, Make It Rain, raining down bullets from the sky and giving slow effect and damage over time. While not exactly an early game skill to build, the slow will be significant in late game that she can use it as a smaller form of crowd control. And finally, her Ultimate, Bullet Time, is what makes her... well, her. She basically starts shooting a barrage of bullets in a cone that deals quite a damage to everyone in sight. Combined with some items like Black Cleaver, they just tear through the enemy armor and bring them down to very low HP, although she can be interrupted. This makes her presence still known throughout the game and will get you ahead when used properly. And it just look so goddamn awesome to use and even better when it nails a character. She's gorgeous, she's unique to play and master at, she's not someone to be just trifled at, she always keep her strong presence everywhere. Of course as an ADC she would need to mind her positioning, which will help her greatly at laning phase. Not to mention despite getting some bad ends of promotional trailers (like going along with Noxus in the Dominion trailer), Miss Fortune is basically the closest they can get for a Bilgewater police. More than that, Miss Fortune has certainly proven herself why she's my #2 Favorite League Champions... and my Favorite Female League Champion too. Oh and if you're wondering who's my #1 League Champion, I can afford to give you one hint. It's not Gangplank. (With no offense intended to GP)
Defense of the Ancients (2) Hero #2Rylai (Crestfall), the Crystal Maiden And my #2 DOTA Hero is none other than Lina's very own sister Rylai. Oh I bet she's now sulking that I prefer her sister. But don't worry, they're both my most favored DOTA lady. Now, back at the topic at hand. Back in the old DOTA, she's just your normal 'apprentice of ice wizard', but I will admit that they give her a surname, making her 'Rylai Crestfall', and after the Retcon of DOTA 2, that surname goes poofs. But in return, she did get quite of a boon of personality and story. I should also note that she previously used the Jaina Proudmoore model, one of my most favored Warcraft III heroes, so it gave me an edge to choose Rylai (well, that is, until Blizzard ruined Jaina via World of Warcraft... Damn you Blizzard!) Like I mentioned during the description of Lina, Rylai and her just can't get along, and Rylai has a disadvantage. She lacked Lina's guile and more naive. When it's time to get separated by their parents, Rylai instead got into the Icewrack, an extremely cold place where she'd be most at home. She's taken by an old wizard that trains her near the throne of Blueheart Glacier, further mastering her ice magic. And in spare time, she hangs around with fellow DOTA hero, Ymir the Tusk and plays snowball fights with joy. When she mastered her ice magic fully, her master allows her to do solitary practice and hibernates himself deep in the Blueheart Glacier, something that Rylai may want to follow later. But that's after she gets things done with the battle between the Ancients, which will reunite her with her sister and Ymir. As mentioned, Rylai is capable of getting friendly with Lina, but if they're enemies... they have their own package of taunting each other, gloating on each kills, cursing the other when slain. But, while Rylai certainly is naive, she's a lot more friendly, aside her friendly quips with Tusk, she can also have certain friendly, complimentary quips with a grumpy, loner, solitary hero like Sven the Rogueknight. This doesn't mean she's one babe to be trifled at, though... In spite of her low base stats like very slow movement speed, low health, Rylai proves herself as one great support hero, making her the go-gal for the 'Team Babysitter', as she's not really dependent on items, only with her skills to boot. These skills can help set up kills for the heroes, like her Q skill, Crystal Nova, which is an AOE nuke spell that creates an ice burst that slows any enemies caught within, from their attack speed to their movement speed. If that's not enough to disable, she can use her W skill, Frostbite, encasing the target in ice, immobilizing them and damaging them over time, although the enemy can still use skills while being held. Against creeps, though, this lasts a VERY LONG TIME, giving her advantage in farming neutral. Rylai is in high demand for support because of her E skill, Arcane Aura. It doubles the mana regeneration to everyone near her, so heroes with mana problems will benefit with sticking with Rylai, and the effect is doubled on herself. And lastly, in team fights, you may want to be wary if she unleashes her Ultimate, Freezing Field. Channeling her magic, Rylai creates a huge field where icicles drop there at random for massive damage and slowing anyone caught in it. This can be devastating if Rylai is left alone or have methods to avoid getting herself interrupted, but its drawback is that it's rather expensive to make this work greatly. But it certainly can be used to save things in a pinch or even drawing attention from other heroes. She's your sweetie that would definitely freeze your ass solid if you look at her funny, and she's supporting heroes very well with her presence, enabling them to carry the game when properly fed. She may have quite some glaring flaws, but in the hands of a player that knows what they're doing, they will capitalize Rylai's strength like her disabling skills, her supportive aura, and her item independence to make her an effective hero. Thus, Rylai attains my #2 DOTA Hero position and amongst DOTA Ladies... I can safely say that she's the best! You go girl!
And now it's time for the Showdown!
The Bounty Hunter vs The Crystal Maiden
Who wins?? This battle... is a rather tough one, it is known that both Miss Fortune and Rylai are not exactly the toughest thing in the universe. However, Miss Fortune has slightly the edge that her attacks really hurt. Her Impure Shots will help the slow movement decrease caused by Rylai's Crystal Nova and continue to tear down Rylai's health, not to mention that she could even utilize her burst damage by using her Attack-Double Up-Attack. Of course, Miss Fortune may look a little helpless when Rylai uses Frostbite on her, but then it'll degenerate into a duel of Ultimates because Frostbite does not prevent Miss Fortune to use skills. So, while Rylai certainly would use the Freezing Field, Miss Fortune can instead reply with first Make It Rain, followed by Bullet Time. All of it would deal steady damage and tear through Rylai's low health, and while Freezing Field would severely damage Miss Fortune, in a 1-on-1 fight, it might not always hit the designated target, so fortune would favor Miss Fortune and left Rylai beaten with full of holes. Yep. Sorry, Rylai. I like you better than your sister, but this match goes to Miss Fortune. Winner: Miss FortuneLOL: 5 DOTA: 4 Once again the LOL stole the lead! Can the champions finally prove themselves to be better than the heroes?? See you... on the finale! It's been quite the journey done by nothing but love to these characters, and you will see who stands in the top in my mind! While you're at it, if you're familiar with the games, go ahead and guess the #1 Champion/Hero! Stay tuned!
