I made this on my phone in five minutes, and I could still probably trick a couple hundred people with a "Download Now" button. I hope this isn't permenant, because not only is this completely stupid, it's probably going to cause some sort of trademark revolution were companies claim to earn the English word "bird" because they used it in their mobile game. I wonder what would happen if I trademark "the"?

This is stupid. I think need set limits on what can be trademarked.

Wait..what does this have to do with gaming..anyway this is a stupid idea.. It was trademarked because a company only wanted their Free-to-Play Game to have the word Candy to avoid shoddy knock offs. Though looking on the App Store, I saw another game called Fruit Splash that was obviously cashing in on Candy Crush and looks to be successful and continue to be successful. The irony of all this is that Candy Crush is a carbon copy of Bejeweled.

Like Amy said, there should be words that should be limited to be trademarked.

This game's creators have the audacity to try and trademark the word candy?
I'm done. Fuck this. *Walks out*

There's good news at least
"While it's a clearly farcical state of affairs, there's a bright spot: while King.com's lawyers can send as many letters as they like, IP lawyer Martin Schwimmer tells Gamezebo that the fact "candy" is such a ubiquitous term will make it hard for much to legally stick."
"Someone can't plausibly claim that they came up with the term TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES on their own", he says. "An incredibly unique trademark like that is somewhat easy to protect."

Thats...Actually going to destroy their company. Why? Well, because there's ANOTHER game with the word "saga" in the title. Take a guess on what that is. Yup. They're screwed when they have to go against Disney.

Candy is old word, not sure of its origin, Saga is even older I believe it's a Norse word for story I believe. Trying to stamp a copy right or trademark on words that have been around that long is... I have no words in mind to describe that level of greed and jerkishness.
