Cool, I listened to Homogenics and liked it enough. Nothing hugely special and probably not my favourite works of Bjork but I'm still pleased that I listened to it with standout tracks being Pluto

As expected from Bjork I think it's a fine album, definitely inaccessible, though, but quite dynamic and a surprisingly concrete mish-mash of supposedly inharmonic instruments. Save for Bjork's own voice, which I don't look quite nicely upon in regards to her trademark off-beat vocal runs. I mean, the voice is nice, but it seems like her general gist is not to sync it properly with the instrumentation, which for some people may be her selling point, while others don't look up to it nicely.
Favourite tracks were Hunter, Bachelorette, Alarm Call, and Pluto.
1. Björk - Homogenic 2. Mumm-Ra - These Things Move in Threes

Oh so you're not dead? OK. Well, this is the next round, so you'll have to listen to Björk's Homogenic and Mumm-Ra's These Things Move In Threes to proceed. Also, whose turn is it now? I will post my thoughts on Homogenic when I have the time.

It's my turn? I forgot. Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation (1988) I'd like to write the details on the album, but I'm slightly lazy at the moment. My word of advice: Try listening to it right away, since it's a double album lasting 70 minutes and can be very harrowing to people who haven't listened to noise rock yet. Best tracks to focus on are Teen Age Riot, Silver Rocket, Total Trash, Candle, and the Trilogy.

Heard about these guys, but never bothered getting into them, so nice that you'll introduce me to them.
As for Homogenic: I luv it. It wasn't the most accessible album, but by now I'm used to inaccessible stuff so it took me 2 listens to get into it. Now I love the odd combos of instruments together with Björk's odd but effective vocals, and I hope to listen to more of Björk's stuff soon. Admittedly, I wasn't much of a fan of 5 Years, but the rest was very good to amazing. Favorite tracks were Bachelorette, Hunter, Joga and All Neon Like.

Try Post. It's a very accessible Bjork album, and one of her best.

Right, I feel like I should expand a bit on Daydream Nation. My mind is escaping at the moment but I'll try my best.
There was a time, when I spent my first days of college, that I'd play nothing but this album as I'd go to it via bus. There was just this unique city-scaping quality behind this record that nicely blended in with the everyday urban enviroment that's been set to stage with me. Sonic Youth themselves come from New York City, which is not only known for its urban shenanigans, but for its history of alternative, no wave, avant-garde, and most importantly, noise rock bands. The Velvet Underground made these chaotic, dragging songs in their day and have become a huge role model for Sonic Youth: They'd copy their long, noisy, goalless instrumentals, and use it to depict their equally noisy, busy, and sprawling hometown.
Teen Age Riot is one hell of a starter: It's one of their most famous songs and its riff-driven verses have the amazing ability to pump me up when I need to get ready and go from home. Unlike earlier Sonic Youth work, it's been noted that the songs on Daydream Nation have become very accessible, and Teen Age has this nice pop rock feel.
Silver Rocket is a straight, energetic, hardcore punk follow up you can't help but dance to and just break down during its noise section. The Sprawl and 'Cross the Breeze are both a bit lukewarm for me, because I don't feel that Kim Gordon's vocals fit in particular with those tracks, plus that The Sprawl reminds me more of Sonic's earlier, more experimental songs. They're overly long and dragging to me. Eric's Trip is neat and spiraling. Total Trash is amazing to me despite being long, as it begins and ends with a regular, very catchy riff, and has this middle section which I always interpret as a feeling of being overwhelmed when gazing at the NYC skyscrapers, being all too much to bare. Hey Joni is another straight pop punk song, for what I feel is a great intro to the following tracks.
You then have Providence, which is more of an actuality than a song. It depicts Thurston Moore(band leader), playing on piano with a cooking, broken amp on, while his buddy is delivering him a voice message on the phone. The track then seagues into Candle, which is my favourite track of the album by far, and one of my most favourite songs of all time. There's an inherent beautiful imagery found in it despite coming from a noise rock band. The beginning jangles feel obscure, shadowy and mysterious, and I easilly imagine it as a soundtrack to those 60's camcorder footages of supposed UFO sightings. Then it explodes in this anxious riff, where Sonic Youth, for a moment, lays down their noise roots and culminates with the two most magical chords I've heard in my life. They are a variation of A7 and A7m chords, but the way you listen to them feels like being swept over by a raging Formula 1 racecar from an electric blue world. Even the chorus loses none of its staying power, suddenly becoming definingly uplifting, bright and optimistic for an SY song. Beautiful track.
Next we have Rain King and Kissibility, both of which are pretty cool, and the album concluding with a trilogy of songs: The Wonder - another punk-influenced song, Hyperstation, a brooding, grim, dark, wake-up call conclusion to Teen Age Riot and really a fitting end to the album(the lyrics are amazing too), while finally ending in an oddball and out-of-place Eliminator Jr. which I don't really like to associate with Hyperstation so I usually regard it as some sort of a bonus track or something. Kim's singing is really juvenilingly fun, though.
tl;dr - Daydream Nation is about being a white hipster punk kid seeing the N.Y.C for the very first time.

Bands like Sleigh Bells and Crystal Castles wouldn't even exist if it weren't for Sonic Youth.
Speaking of which, wednesday is coming and you'd best hurry up. Too bad you'll get a rushed out experience of an album, as it really should be a grower.
